Here is a five-door hatchback 1996 Saab 900 S (GM900 or NG900) owned since new and picked up from the Trollhattan, Sweden factory by a now elderly couple. The car is currently kept at their mechanic's yard due to the owner's progressing Alzheimer disease, for the safety of everyone. At eighty-two he is giving up driving. I am a neighbor, posting it here on there behalf. It is a non turbo-sport model, and as such may ride firmer than the standard sedan. The trunk is huge; the rear seats fold down, producing voluminous space. Everything works as it should, including the alarm, electric windows, and door locks. The air conditioning blows cold. The battery is six-months old. I thoroughly checked out the car as if I were a buyer so as to be able to not only answer your questions, moreover to sell it in good faith and honesty; I have nothing to gain personally from the sale, and with the asking price and good condition of the vehicle, nether does the owner other than they are liquidating things to move on. In the pictures it is dirty due to windy, dusty weather and being parked outdoors this last week. The paint has no fade nor does the body have any evident damage; it was garage parked until now. Tires have much life left, are wearing evenly; the brakes and rotors are good - no grooving. It starts right up and does not smoke; runs and idles well. Their mechanic took good care of it and is willing to answer questions though please don't overdo it as he is busy and is not making money whilst on the phone. He has the keys and fobs; I can meet you or your representative at his shop for test drives during the week when the shop is open for business. It comes with the manuals shown and all of the maintenance records (over one-inch thick) and the original pickup documents. There are four evident things which are worn, damaged, or in need of repair: 1) the front-leather seats have moderate wear, though the foam remains comfortable and resilient; 2) the passenger visor-holding clip is broken and in need or replacement - it is held in place by safety wire; 3) the driver's-side fog lamp lens is broken; and 4) Both hood shocks do not hold the hood and are in need of replacement. His wife said a motorcycle ran into the left rear fender but it was not obvious to me when I performed my inspection and took pictures; this occurs as one of the reported accidents. There is one more accident reported which occurred as their mechanic was returning the car to the owner while stopped at a red light; a pickup in front backed into him while waiting for the light to change. Other than these things it is in good, usable condition and in need of no repair. I am willing to deliver it to a shipper in El Paso - shipping costs beyond that are the responsibility of the buyer. I can drive it to your location though you would be responsible for fuel and my return expenses to El Paso International airport, or I can bring it to you on a one way-car hauler rented by you, towing it with my pickup to your location - you would pay my to-and-from fuel expenses.
