Vehicle Detail
Hello Honda collectors. Very rare, low production number 1969 Honda CB750 Sandcast motorcycle stored in garage for the last 40 years.Frame CB750-1000889, engine CB750E-1000352. I'm selling bike with my sister in-law, her husband, (deceased), bought the bike new from his uncles Honda dealership.Nothing has been done to the bike in 44 years. It is as it was when new with exception of 40 years of dust & dirt from storage. The local vintage bike shop, Checkered Past, in Galesburg Michigan, freed the slides without removing the carbs, which were remarkable clean, hung a external gas tank and got it to run.We turned it off immediately and did nothing else to the bike. This is a very original piece of Honda history. Everything on the bike is as it was when it came from the Honda factory. The two Ward brothers, Jerry and Bob drove from Michigan to Port Townsend, Washington in a drive away car, where their uncle owned Port Townsend Honda and Dive Shop, they assembled the bikes, including a luggage rack, and rode back to Michigan along Rt.2 across the Rocky Mnts. and Northern Plains, through the upper peninsula of Michigan across the Mackinaw bridge and south to Detroit. Bob's 750 was totaled later that year when a VW beattle turn left in front of him. The bike is all original with minor rust and pitting on chrome, the tank will need cleaned inside, the seat is in great shape with no rips, the exhaust is original, unstamped, with no dents, rust, or holes, including baffles. The right side cover is broken, see pic. Put a battery in it and all electrical worked the only problem with the electrical is the starter button is missing, used a small screwdriver and starter turned the motor over. We left this bike as we found it allowing the next owner to do as they please with this piece of Honda history. Collect and show it as it was found with the patina, unmolested and all original or restore it, your choice. Look at the pic's, I will answer all questions, email, text, or phone calls. Feel free to come inspect the unit we will pick you up at the Kalamazoo airport or give directions where the bike can be seen.Several local vintage Honda experts have inspected the bike and confirmed that all is original as it was when manufactured. Bike is sold as is without any warranty spoken or given. All shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Comes with a clear title and two keys. Don't miss out on your chance to own a true unmolested piece of Honda greatness. Bid often and bid high, very obtainable reserve.Randall 269-532-3373 call with questions if I don't have the answer, I will get it. Check my other auction out--1984 Honda VF1100S Sabre V65 with only 600 miles, like brand new. On Jan-15-14 at 14:51:33 PST, seller added the following information: After communicating with several potential bidders/buyers I got down on the floor and inspected closely the welds at the area where the exhaust pipe and the muffler come together and is welded. We inspected all 4 pipes. Number 2 pipe and muffler shows a ugly weld with a small 1/8" hole in the pipe, leading me to believe that it could be a repair. Number 1,3,& 4 appear to be good.I called Bob, brother of the original owner, Bob said that at no time was he aware of a repair and that his brother was not the type guy to repair he would have replaced the complete pipe. Bob feels it was a bad weld from the factory as these early bikes were hand built. I don't know, all I can do is let everyone know what we found. So if you are the high bidder and would like to cancel your bid, please do, as you will not be obligated to purchase the bike after this revision.Any new bidders please bid with this information in mind and bid accordingly. Please accept our apology for missing this flaw.As you all know the reserve is $15,000.00 and will remain. If you are high bidder and would like to speak to me, please feel free to call me. 269-532-3373 Regards, Randall
