Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is this 1965 Jeep Gladiator pickup. It is a factory 4wd truck. It is a true survivor! It's almost all original and it runs, drives, and stops very good for a 49 year old vehicle. It has the original 6 cyl engine and a 4 spd trans. It also has the factory posi traction rear end. For being as old as it is it has a very straight body. As you can see in the pictures, the tailgate does have some dings from use over the years. The original paint has worn through in many places which can also be seen in the pictures. The engine starts easily and runs great and has a lot of power but it does seem to smoke some if you let it idle for a while. I've been told it was probably the valve guide seals. The trans and transfer case shift smoothly and don't have any weird noises. The 4x4 works fine. The hubs engage and disengage easily. The only rust I can see on the truck is in the floor boards. At one time someone put a couple of sheet metal patches to repair the problem. If you look up from the bottom you can see a few holes where the floor rusted through. The body and frame are pretty much rust free except for surface rust where the paint has worn out. All the gauges and lights work fine however, the turn signal switch does not cancel after making a corner. The seat is comfortable but is not original. I will answer any questions as quickly as possible. Feel free to contact me for details. 509-879-0424On Dec-30-13 at 21:47:39 PST, seller added the following information: A couple of other things I forgot to mention when I listed the truck. The radio in the dash is an old after market unit and It doesn't work. The heater control is all there and the fan blows but the steel cables have frozen over the years. The parking brake doesn't hold (the cables under the truck seem loose like there maybe a bracket missing or something like that). The mileage on the speedometer is 93,000 but I don't know if that's accurate as I am not the original owner. To look at and drive the truck it seems like it is. There is an oil leak (not terrible) at the front crankshaft pulley seal. I think that's it. If I remember any thing else I will post it.
