Check my website at the same name: at speed motors dot com. This is an absolutely wonderful 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S Edition. Introduced world-wide in 1982, the Porsche 944 was immediately heralded as “the best handling Porsche ever”. It was extremely well balanced with a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Its small 2.5L, water-cooled engine, produced 143hp, the car weighed 2,790lbs, and retailed for a starting price of $18,450. Then, in 1985, the 944 Turbo was launched. Boasting 217 hp, larger brakes, revised styling, and stunning performance, the 944 series was now capable of “playing” with the 911’s!!! In 1988, Porsche offered a limited-production Turbo variant called the Turbo S (essentially a Turbo Cup car for the streets). For a premium of approximately $8,000 over a “standard” Turbo, the new S came with: 247 hp/ 258 torque, revised ignition mapping, 928 S4 brakes, rear limited slip differential with oil cooler, larger intercooler, Koni adjustable shocks front/rear, stiffer bushings, larger sway bars, Club Sport rims, revised under tray aerodynamics, Silver Rose exterior, plaid custom interior, and only 1,000 units produced. With all of these refinements, the 944 Turbo S’s 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds and 165 mph top speed was as fast as a 911 Turbo!! This particular Turbo S is a fully documented, un-modified unit with only 42,000 original miles. It is in wonderful condition, with absolutely NO DASH CRACKs, perfect interior, all books and records including the Turbo S supplement, multiple keys, sunroof storage cover, rear cargo area pull-back protector, original Koni shock adjustment knobs, etc. These cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially unmodified and with low mileage. I have owned 5 different 944 Turbos and this one is absolutely THE BEST driving one of all of those I've been in.
