Up for Auction I have a very rare 1943 Chevy COE 4x4 (K-33). According to Fred Crismon's U.S. Military wheeled vehicles book there were only 598 of these trucks produced as compared to 150-175,000 of the conventional models. The truck is also, rare because the frame is uncut and all original. It was originally used during the war at the Todd shipyards in San Pedro, California. Then retired from service in 1984, the truck was used as a fuel tender and had a tank mounted on it. Right now it has been partially dismantled for restoration. But, I have too many projects to finish and not enough time. As can be seen in the pictures, some of the engine has been removed to check to see the condition and everything looks fine. It was running when parked. The front diff. has been capped and the drive line is not there however, I have another front axle and driveline that will go with the truck. The sheet metal is very good except for some very minor dents and a small amount of rust on the pillars and one fender nothing major. The windshield frame is rusty but, I will include a nice frame with the purchase. This truck is in need of a full restoration but, when finished it will be very unique and will attract a crowd. There is no title but, will provide a Bill of Sale. Also, the carburetor was professionally rebuilt & never used and will come with all the new gaskets to reassemble the engine parts. The fuel tank is in great shape but, needs to be cleaned out. The seat is in good shape and will need to be reupholstered(original).Everything you see in the pictures goes with the sale.
