Vehicle Detail

Extremely reliable, fun and very well maintained E36 4 door sedan. I have owned this car for the last 50,000+ miles and have made improvements and maintained it religiously. The Good-New parts in the last 50,000 miles:Rear shocksFront strutsInner tie rod endsOuter tie rod endsLower ball jointsLower control armsTreeHouse Racing M3 Lower control arm pivots (these are the BEST for your front suspension)Front wheel bearingsFront rotorsFront brake pads (within 5000 miles)Rear trailing arm bushingsRear wheel bearingsRear half shaftsWater pumpFan clutchA/C compressor (converted to 134a, blows 28 degree air on the hottest day)Cabin air filterHeadlight switchTrailer hitchClutch slave cylinderAll fluids changed on a regular basis, including trans oil, differential oil and coolantI'm sure that there's more, I just forget... Almost everything works (including the seat heaters on both seats) and works well. The engine computer (on the dash) indicates at all times that the radiator is low (bad sensor) and that it's out of washer fluid (same). The right rear window is inoperable (IIRC, it's the motor) and I have removed the switch. The windshield is crack-free. The leather seats (powered) are very nice and above average for the age and mileage of the car. The interior carpets are nice (they are dirty in the pics) and the plastics, dash and interior trim are in very good shape. It is obvious that this has been a well maintained car for all of it's life. In the city (mixed driving) I regularly get 22-23 MPG. On the highway it gets up to 29-30 MPG. On a recent trip (1200 miles round trip) it got 30MPG at 70MPH. I also got 24.5MPG at a constant 95MPH. The car handles exceptionally well (I think it has improved springs) and is stable, smooth and comfortable. I was told by the PO that the clutch had been replaced not too long before I bought it. There is no slip, and it feels good with no chatter. The gearbox shifts perfect, with no odd noises or synchronizer crunches. The limited slip rear end works like new, and I was told it is out of an M3. The Bad- There is minor rust on the right rear rocker panel, just forward of the rear wheel (pictured)There is minor rust on the trunk area just under the license plate area (pictured)At one time it looks like there was some front end damage to the car. The front fenders, hood and passenger front door have been repainted. The inner structure is straight and show no sign of crash damage. If it was crashed, the repair work is excellent. There is wear on the shift knob, the shift boot and the steering wheel. They're original to the car.The sunroof guides (made of plastic) rattle a little when you go over bumps. This in no way effects operation, and it's pretty much the only rattle in the car. It consumes a little less than a half quart of oil every 5000 miles (my oil service interval). When the car is dead cold (like over night) the hydraulic lifters rattle for 1-2 seconds on initial start. For the mileage, this is normal. The rear (factory) speakers are done. They are not hooked up. The front speakers work.It will need rear rotors soon. There is a slight warp when they are warmed up. This is a very good car. I have no doubts (if you continue to maintain it) that this car will run for many, many more miles. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. It has never let me down and I have never had to 'limp' it home. Thanks for looking, and if I can answer any questions, please email me. Thanks!
