Vehicle Detail
This 2005 Toyota Prius, Package 4, is looking for a home! I am the 2nd owner and have put all but 19k miles on it. I have all the service and repair records on it. I replaced the 6 speaker JBL system with Kicker components, and installed 2 - Kicker 12-W3's in the back, with 2 amps. The head unit was replaced with a double-din Jensen unit, for DVD, Navigation and bluetooth. Still needs the faceplate put on, but sounds great. Stock 15" rims were replaced with 17" Scion tC rims, and have nearly brand new all-weather tires on them - good for another 60k+, and they may come with a 2nd set of 17" snow tires. The original fog lamps kept getting broken by rock salt, so a friend that works in metal fabrication made a custom light-bar, and they contain a set of PIAA LED driving lamps (which turn on with the headlamps) and a set of PIAA LED fog lamps, which are wired to the stock fog switch on the steering column. I installed a 2" hitch and ball, with a 4-wire trailer harness. At 225,000 miles I did a complete brake and suspension overhaul. I also installed a set of Eibach lowering springs with spacers in the back (because of all the gear I carry). Makes for an aggressive look and ride. The paint was beginning to oxidize, so I coated it with Plasti-Dip, from DipYourCar. It's a Matte-Black with Gloss finish, and I have enough for another coat. Will include sprayer and extras if desired. Car history should show it has been in 2 accidents, both because of kamikaze deer...both on the left front quarter-panel. I love this car, but it needs some TLC. - The front bumper cover needs replacing, hit a coon and took out the lower grill.- The engine is burning a quart of oil every 1200 miles (rings are bad in the 2 center cylinders).- The interior floor needs some good cleaning or new carpet...Michigan winters!- There are some cosmetic scratches on the dash and doors.- The controls on the right-hand side of the steering wheel have stopped working, which means you have to use the MFD to turn on the defrost. On Dec-04-13 at 09:37:30 PST, seller added the following information: I have not had any problems with the HV battery or the transmission, and no codes have ever been thrown for them either. I have had to replace the 12v battery though, and that is probably because of the extra draw from the amps I installed for the stereo system. Also, the odometer has been replaced by the dealership. Evidently the odometers in 2004-2005 Toyota Prius only reach 299,999, and then stop. I have the paperwork to show the work they did. I listed this vehicle with the actual mileage, and not the odometer reading, to more accurately reflect the age of the car.On Dec-05-13 at 04:02:03 PST, seller added the following information: If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. 989.657.9839On Dec-09-13 at 17:36:57 PST, seller added the following information: Couple of you have asked whether the title is clear...It is currently, I don't know what will happen when you register it and the mileage doesn't match. It effectively looks like the odometer "rolled over", and I don't know what the laws in each state say about the status of the title when that happens. I attached new pictures tonight. The snow was blowing pretty good so they aren't the clearest, but you should get the idea. Amps - Kicker 450.1 and the sub-amp is either a 750 or 1000 mono. I have added two small fans in the storage space to encourage airflow...and it works wonderfully. Subs - Are custom boxes made for me. I liked to be able to use the back cargo area and wanted to be able to fit the speakers behind the front seats, on the floor. Headunit - Jensen VM9424-BT with camera. Needs mic, never used the camera, and it needs the faceplates for the double-din conversion kit. It's an unfinished install. Head unit reads SD cards, USB, iPad/iPod/iPhone, and has 3 Aux In's. Also, in the storage space with the amps you can see the lead for the trailer wiring harness, which, when I went back, it may be a 1.25" hitch...I do know you aren't supposed to exceed more than 200lbs tongue weight and I have hauled more than 1200 pounds with the Prius, in a custom trailer. It's got a lot of low end because of the HV drive system. Seats have no tears or rips, and for most of their life have been covered with seat covers, but not before they acquired some stains. They still have good support, but appear old. I took a picture of the worst one for you to see. There are some scratches to the glove-box, which you can either repaint (which is how Toyota created them) or replace.
