This is a 1973 Lotus Europa Twin Cam Special. These cars are simply stunning to drive. The light weight and mid-engine make the handling absolutely stunning. Their looks are an acquired taste, but I must assume that is you are reading this you already have acquired that affliction! A restoration was started by the previous owner some years ago and never finished. The car was painted Alfa Romeo Canary Yellow, and is in quite good condition, but there are some marks and scratches from moving the car etc. The car seems to be in basically good condition, with no serious rust, some surface rust of course, but nothing to worry about. I was told that the engine was rebuilt to a slight higher than standard spec, but I have no personal knowledge of what exactly was done. The transmission is the more desirable 5-speed but appears to be stuck in two gears at the moment. I’m told it is fairly simple to correct this. The complete interior has been removed and will need to be restored, although the seats have already been done. The windscreen has been removed and I have a brand new Triplex screen ready to fit. All the suspension, factory alloy wheels etc seem to be in quite good condition, although the car will need to be checked out completely before returning to the road. I have purchased a few other minor items that were missing, and these will be sold with the car. I do have the Bill of Sale for my purchase and will supply a CA Bill of Sale for the car with this sale. Overall this is a great project and will be a very nice car when complete. It’s not as big a job as many as a lot of the car is perfectly OK.
