1965 International A120 metro . This metro was purchased by the US Air Force as a group of 563 other metros if i remember right " see the photots of the original inspection sheet for the military and other original documents. " I believe this is what is reffered to as the short wheel base van , It has a wheel base of 115" Be sure and look at the documents I have pictured with the van . This van is number 430 of a 538 van order placed by the US Air Force . . The truck runs excellent , I just installed new plugs , wires , cap , rotor . It also had the points system eliminated years ago and now has electronic ignition . I installed a new fuel pump as well along with new master cylinder. Brakes work great and will slide the tires if you really cram them . The old metro runs really smooth and has newer exhaust into a cherry bomb muffler . The wipers work , it does have dual wipers on it , the other arm is just not on it , The other wiper post is located above the pass side window which was only done in 64-65 , all the others have the pass side wiper post UNDER the windshield . the heater works , all brake lights , headlights and turn signals work . The fuel sender needs a new float i believe .It had a new one installed years ago but when the fuel pump went out last time , it sat for years and years and i think the old gas ate the float. Also it needs a new temp gauge , " the needle broke off the old gauge ". This is the LAST year of this bodystyle . From what ive read and what ive been told , 65 was the year of the body change , However the Air Force ordered a handful of the old body style metros , This has Air force paper work with it that is really cool to have with it . The body has some rust here and there as is expected . Back doors have dents and the right side one has a pretty chewed up corner on the inside " see pictures" . Has some bondo here and there over dents and dings . It has the 17.5 rims and tires “ NOT SPLIT RIMS” which is a nice bonus and it does need tires , the ones on it are old, hard, and dry . I drive it around out here in the country getting firewood and mobile " storage " ha ha . All of the doors open and close fine , some of the glass is cracked , But its flat glass , any glass shop can cut it and you can probably have every window in it cut for under 200 dollars. Flat glass is cheap Has a clean and clear title In my name on its way back to me from the state of illinois as we speak . Somewhere along the line the inside was painted brown and the id tag was removed , Possibly during its military service , The metro has been titled and plated and always in service since its decomission from the military just someone removed the tag , but they also have chassis numbers so its never been an issue. Must be picked up at my location in Shelbyville IL , i can drive it up on the trailer for a shipper if you choose to have it shipped .
