Vehicle Detail
1024x768 You are bidding (hopefully) on a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel 4 wheel drive long bed extended cab pick-up truck. While it does have 370,000 miles on it, don’t let the mileage fool you! Cummins diesels last for hundreds of thousands of miles when maintained well, and this one has been well taken care of. Mechanically, the truck is in great shape. The 5.9 liter 12-valve Cummins engine has been upgraded with a TST #8 fuel plate to produce 235 hp and 605 foot-pounds of torque (stock hp and torque were 190 and 405, respectively). In addition, a three-piece exhaust manifold and 4” straight exhaust (turbo back) have been added, the Killer Dowel Pin has been tabbed, and a new throttle position sensor has been installed. This work was done in 2011, with the exception of the TPS, which was replaced in July of this year. Also, the engine has been set up to run on both diesel fuel and vegetable oil using a kit by Grease Car. The Veggie Oil system has worked without a hitch since 2006, and has provided me with thousands of trouble-free and FREE miles. In fact, I will include a full tank (27 gallons) of veggie oil to the winning bidder. The transmission was rebuilt by Torrance Transmission in July of 2011, and was upgraded with heavier-duty internal parts and torque converter to handle the increased power and torque of the engine. The transfer case was resealed at the same time. I have added gauges in the cab for turbo boost, egt, transmission temperature, veggie oil temperature, and veggie oil level. Four new Bilstein shocks were installed in September of 2011, and 4 B.F. Goodrich 285-75-16 All Terrain tires were put on the truck last December. In June of this year, the two front rotors were replaced with slotted and drilled rotors, and, of course, the pads were replaced at the same time. The front differential oil was changed as well; I have not done the rear yet, but have the oil and gasket to do so. The interior of the truck is in very good condition; the only area that shows any real wear is the driver’s seat (see picture). The headliner, other seats, and carpet are in very good shape. The body is in very good condition as well, with a few dings here and there; the rear bumper has been “used” twice, but no major damage was sustained. Paint is in excellent condition. The truck tows great, and includes fifth-wheel hitch rails bolted through the bed to the frame. The fact that this truck can run for free (or very cheaply) on Veggie Oil and that NO SMOG CHECK is required makes this truck an excellent choice! Please do not bid if you don’t have the money; if you have less than 5 e-bay transactions or negative feedback, you must email me BEFORE bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Truck is available to show by e-mailing me for an appointment. Truck is located in Torrance, Ca (just southwest of Los Angeles). No warranty is expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick up or shipping, although I can help load. Please e-mail with questions BEFORE you bid. Thanks, and good luck! Normal 0 false false false
