Here is a little history: According to the serial number, the car started it's life as a green 6 cylinder convertible. I purchased the car in 2009. The gentleman that I purchased it from did a full exterior cosmetic restoration, with new paint in 2005 and SS Badging. He also installed a 396 CI Marc IV crate motor. After I got the car, I didn't like the lackluster performance and spongy ride of a 60's era muscle car, so I did a head-to-toe performance overhaul. I installed a complete Hotchkis® Sport Suspension system, replaced all the old rubber bushings with nylon, and upgraded the shocks, springs and steering. I also installed a custom built Gearstar® 700R4 transmission, and upgraded the rear end to a Chevy 10" with positraction. I put a big brake kit on the front with drilled and slotted rotors and a performance booster. I then moved onto the engine compartment. Highlights include: I upgraded cooling system with a custom built aluminum radiator, Pro Comp® high flow water pump and a high performance electric fan with variable speed controller. I installed a performance cam, Holley® 750 CFM carb, and an MSD Ignition. I then overhauled the exhaust system with high flow ceramic headers and a Magnaflow® Performance Stainless Steel Exhaust System. I finished up a custom wrinkle paint and braided stainless steel hose covers. In the interior I replaced everything: carpeting, door panels, dash, gauges and I added wrap around Procar® performance seats. I upgraded the stereo to a Classic Auto Sounds® system with the best speakers and amplifier Alpine® offered. To keep it cool I wrapped the entire interior floor with Thermo-Tec® and installed a Classic Auto Air Gen IV Climate Control System. In early 2013 in installed a new convertible top frame, canvass and a solid glass rear window. Four years, over $60k+ in receipts and God only knows how many thousands of man hours, and I've created a car that is not only exhilarating behind the wheel, but reliable enough for a cross country drive. It's not a numbers matching car nor is it of "show car" quality. It's a head turning, pro-touring machine that performs and drives like a high performance late model muscle car. It's not going to win any awards at the International Concours d'Elegance, but it's going to smoke past those high-falutin pansies and grab all the attention at the weekend poker runs, Friday night cruises, local and state car shows and especially at local watering holes. It's was really hard to price this car. On one hand it's a 68 Camaro Convertible SS clone available all day long for $28 to $32k. On the other hand it's a Pro-Tour equipped muscle car that you'll see for $120k. I landed at an asking price is $44,650. There is a little wiggle room, so bring serious offers. However, please don't try to negotiate by showing me comps of stock Camaros for half the price. I started out with one of those cars and it was cosmetically nice, but it was a maintenance nightmare and dull and boring behind the wheel. Drive one, then come check out what a true muscle car is.
