Vehicle Detail
I am offering my trusted 2000 Infinity G20 for sale because I just got a new Nissan Leaf. I bought it in 2004 when it had 40,000 miles on it, and it came with a salvage title at the time...it has 150,000 miles on it now. It needs regular maintenance (oil change every 5k miles etc), and something needs to be replaced every now and then on cars with these many miles; but other than that this car is good for commuting. I was regularly driving it 65 miles/day (on the 110 Freeway in the LA area), and it is good for longer trips as well (just went to San Diego last week). Cosmetically, a couple of issues consistent with age: it has paint that is peeling in some locations (not sure if you can see that in the pictures), there is a tear in the leather on the drivers seat, and the power antenna motor does not work (AM/FM/CD players work well). It rattles and hums a little bit at low speed (something in the front fender is loose, and resonates with the engine at low rpms), but is very comfortable to ride.I have changed the front two struts (in 2012; rear ones seem to be okay), the brake pads (in August of 2013), got 2 new tires on the front (September 2013). It also has a new starter (March 2011), and a new high pressure hose for the power steering fluid (the old one developed a small leak... replaced in March 2013). It has always passed the smog test without any problems (I have several of these smog check/repair records that I can share), and it was last serviced at 135,000 miles. This car does have a salvage title. From what I understand, it was rear ended, and the back fender was replaced. I did have pictures of this car before it was repaired by a dealer who specializes in buying/repairing/selling salvage cars; and those were consistent with a rear end collision. Also, you can see the collision marks in the spare tire compartment. Given that, I was confident that there was no structural damage, so I took a chance on this; and it worked out well for me. This car was very reliable ~ I have taken it on 2000 mile trips. If you are looking for a reliable car that is relatively inexpensive, and that is relatively efficient on gas (about 30 mpg) then this is something you should consider seriously. And finally, if you are a fan of listener supported radio, I will donate 10% of the proceeds here to KPCC (local NPR outlet) and another 10% to KUSC (local classical music station).
