Description In the next several weeks, we will be auctioning a number of scarce project cars that have been barn stored by a local collector / enthusiast for years. There are a number of cars that are fairly unique and rare, and are all in various stages of repair. Note that many of these are in need of a complete major restoration, and none are able to drive away. They do have clear titles and would be great projects for the right individual. This is the Mk X successor, just prior to the XJ-6. Our consignor is the 3rd owner, the second owner bought it in 1968 from a Jaguar dealer; he purchased it in 1985. This car was very fast & very stable and great on long trips. Unfortunately the previous owner had a cosmetic paint job done (against professional advice) that only hid the rust & the paint started crazing & flaking off within 2 years. It was parked in about 1990 when the then-newly added alcohol-blended gasoline gummed up the rubber in the English fuel system. It sports a fawn (light) green leather & walnut interior with all the luxury appointments: rear picnic tables, etc: It appears to be a fairly complete car, everything is there but in rough condition. It also sports the triple SUs on the 4.2L XK engine. Only 5700 made,and the rear axle is the same as E-Type, popular with hot-rodders. Condition ReportOriginal car stored for year in barn. This car is in need of a total comprehensive restoration and has not been turned over or ran in years. Title and keys included, not for the weekend restorer. Tires have dry rot, and there is heavy rust under the car as shown in the photos. Please see photos and description for complete details on vehicle condition. Additional Details: We cannot warranty any parts and as with any vintage vehicle, they are always a project in some way. Collector cars are many times temperamental and reliability can be a factor on some. We also did not test any accessory or feature. To be clear, this vehicle is a project car or for parts. It does not run and the condition of any component is unknown. The automobile needs to be transferred on a trailer to the destination. The title is free and clear, and we are also requiring a bill of sale be signed by the new owner stating this car is being purchased as-is as a major project car.
