Vehicle Detail

2000 Honda Odyssey LX. No reserve. Transmission needs work. The van is in Mt. Pleasant Michigan. Buyer must make arrangements for pickup and transportation of the vehicle. Please make arrangements through me if you wish to see the car. The vehicle is at my parents' house. I am selling my 2000 Honda Odyssey LX to the highest bidder. I purchased the van from the original owner. The odometer reads 131,700. I used the vehicle for freeway driving between Michigan and Ohio. It has 17 inch wheels and tires with 10,000 miles on tires. I also installed a new stereo just prior to moving. USB inputs and a CD player are included. When I moved out of Michigan 10 months ago the van was put in storage. Routine maintenance is all up to date. When my father went to start the van it started without any hesitation. Proper procedures were followed to protect the engine while vehicle was in storage. The front rotors, pads and bearings need replacing. The replacement of bearings and brakes can be performed at the same time which will reduce labor costs if you plan to have the work done by someone else. Also the driver's side exterior sliding door needs replacing (See picture). This requires removal of the inside sliding door panel. I replaced the passenger side one about a year ago and it took less than 30 minutes. A new door handle will be included with van. I had planned to do this work myself and will include the following new parts with van purchase: 1. Two new front wheel bearings, 2. New pads and rotors for front wheels. 3. New rear driver's side sliding exterior door handle The van shows normal wear and tear for its age. It has a dent on the passenger side sliding door. Please examine pictures closely. What you see is what you get. These pictures were taken yesterday. The hood has a few rock chips in it. Also if you look at the front windshield there is a crack that runs across the bottom. It does not obstruct the line of sight and does not leak. This occured several years ago and it has been fine. A new front windshield can be purchased and installed for around $200 if you do your homework. The transmission fluid has been changed 4 times or every 15000 miles since I purchased the vehicle. At approximately 120000 the transmission began to "bang" when put in drive. Through my investigation on the internet I learned this is a common problem for the Honda Odyssey. I assumed I would eventually be replacing the transmission but because this was not the vehicle I used for daily commuting, I planned to drive it until the transmission died. I mainly used the vehicle for freeway trips and had been manually shifting the gears to reduce the severity of the "bang." Once on the freeway I would leave it in overdrive. If there is a transmission expert out there it may be a simple fix, but with all the information on line regarding Honda Odyssey transmissions it seems that replacement is the only sure way to take care of the transmission issue. There are two very highly rated transmission shops listed on ebay who charge around $1200 for a warrantied rebuilt transmission. I had planned to do the work myself but that day never came as it still can be driven the way I described above. My current transmission never overheated that I am aware of, and the van has not been used to tow a trailer. It is recommended that when replaced, an external transmission filter and a transmission cooler be installed. These can be purchased for under $50 each. If you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to auction end. Thanks for looking. On Sep-17-13 at 15:22:55 PDT, seller added the following information: To clarify: It is the drivers side exterior rear door handle that needs replacing. This part will be included.
