Time Capsule One Owner 1961 Ford Falcon 2 door Coupe in Very Rare Original Condition with 8,242 Original Miles offered by Gas Monkey Garage. The Ford Falcon was produced by Ford Motor Company from 1960 to 1970. It was a huge sales success for Ford initially, handily outselling rival compacts from Chrysler and General Motors introduced at the same time. During its lifespan, the Falcon was offered in a wide range of body styles: two-door and four-door sedans, two-door and four-door station wagons, two-door hardtops, convertibles, a sedan delivery and the Ranchero pickup. The 1961 model year introduced additional options and the Ford Falcon brochure featured Charlie Brown and Lucy from the Peanuts comic strip. They stayed until 1965. Ford boasted of the good fuel economy achieved by the Six Cylinder Ford Falcon models in advertising. The fuel economy was good, a claimed 30mpg. We found this excellent, one owner , original condition time capsule stored in the Garage it spent most of its life in having been driven only 8,242 miles since it rolled off the Lorain Ohio assembly line. The ORIGINAL exterior paint is in very good condition showing a few nicks and scratches as you would expect after 52 years! The interior is also in excellent ORIGINAL condition (see all the photos) having had the seats covered with clear plastic since new! With the 1961 Ford Falcon less was more and this car did not even have the optional radio (the dash has never been cut & the delete plate is still present!)The engine starts right up & a short test drive reveals a trip down memory lane as this 1961 Falcon takes you back to time when having a set of wheels meant having the freedom to hit the open road and explore all that this great Country has to offer! The lucky owner of this Falcon will need to have a complete service performed due to the length of storage before any extended driving is enjoyed. On Sep-26-13 at 09:49:19 PDT, seller added the following information: After closer inspection( I had K.C. look at it) it appears there has been some paint work on the front of the car at some point in the distant past( a long time ago,). I can't confirm why or when so please bid accordingly. From the A pillars back it does appear to be the original paint!
