Vehicle Detail
1982 Corvette Collector EditionThis is my 1982 Corvette Collector Edition. Been in our family for 8 years. Last year of the C3 (no vettes made in 1983) and this is one of about 6,700 made. It has a unique Silver-Beige color scheme inside and out, and multiple Collector's Edition logos and emblems as pictured. This car is fully equipped with great options like power windows, an 8 way power driver's seat, cruise control and more. The original radio and speakers have been replaced with a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/MP3 system. The original steering wheel has been changed to a new one, but still has the Collector's emblem. Overall its a good car that always starts up on the first try. Have put less than 5000 miles on it in the 8 years I've owned it. I've had much work done on the engine, particularly the cross-fire, and as a result it runs pretty well. She still needs some work, and I will try to describe the vehicle and its needs as best as I can:Mechanically:I would put new brakes as they are starting to squeakAt some point I would put new rear shocks, you feel the big bumpsEngine, Tranny are good; having no issuesBrand new battery installed last monthPower locks do not work; power antenna does not retractA/C unit does not blow cold airThe vacuum lines work fine! The flip headlights and windows take their time but go up and down with no issueInterior:The special edition leather seats are warn; drivers side has some rips as you seeThe driver's side door panel has a ripCarpet looks a but old in spotsSome cracks in dash and T-top barHatch has new arms; need minor adjustment so they don't push rear window out of lineEXTERIOR:She has a 10 foot paint job... looks great from there but come closer and you start to see chips and scratchesHas all its Collector's Edition emblemsNeeds a new driver's side mirror; the power mirrors are fully functionalGlass T-tops in great shapeSUMMARY:Overall I would call the car in good condition. For 30+ years old it runs and looks pretty good. If you want a special Vette and are willing to put some elbow grease into it over time, you will be really happy with this car and the price. She still turns heads which makes it really hard for me to sell. With two kids in college, its time to pass her on to someone who will pick up the work where I have left off. If you have questions feel free to ask, and happy bidding!
