I'm selling my ratrod conversion 1968 Chrysler Newport with the rare combination of a 383 engine and 3-on-the-tree manual transmission. Previous owner began the ratrod transformation including shaving the door handles, painting exterior matte black, updating interior. It starts right up, idles nicely, doesn't run hot, stops and steers like it's supposed to. Suspension is great. The clutch feels good and it goes through the gears nicely. No leakage, no smoke, and everything works. The lights, turn signals, horn and wipers work perfectly. Some of the interior door panels and various trim pieces are in the trunk from the shaved door conversion. Frame is surprisingly solid, as the floors appear to be as well. Mileage is 140k, this is a great beach cruiser that I wish I could hold on to. WHY AM I SELLING IT??? My wife and I just had a baby and this car has to go. There's a lot of great stuff about this car but here are the items that need to be replaced or fixed: - Crack in windshield (I'm including a brand new 1968 Chrysler Newport windshield still in box to accompany the car, cost me $800). - Brake booster needs to be adjusted - Couple tears in original front and rear seats. - Brake light relay needs to be adjusted, right now the brake light running lights stay on as if you have the headlights on which drains the battery. - Car has a clear NJ title but as you can see from picture, the previous owner filled out his name in the buyer's area by mistake. I can give you address of previous owner to get this fixed with DMV (he lives in Jackson), or I can give you the title and notarized bill of sale if you'd rather just have it transferred that way.
