Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1956 Ford Convertible. In the last 2 years the following has been done. New Paint, in and out. New Interior, seats, side panels, carpet, visors. New top with new rubbers, pads, tacking strips, (top is manual). New stabilizer bushings. All new glass. windshield and all side glass. New anti rattle kits, rubbers on windshield, vent windows, qtr. windows, doors, trunk. ect. New firewall pad. New glovebox. New heater and defrost tubes. round and square. New brakes, complete with lines, master, and wheel cylinders ect. New boot, and new well. Detailed trunk. Replated bumpers two years ago. (chrome is sure not what it used to be.) Good original trim. New lights and lens. New gas tank, sending unit and new lines, filter, ect. New paint under trunk lid and under hood. New step plates. New clutch, pressure plate, and bearing. I just returned from a wonderful 3 week vacation with family in Indiana and Illinois with the car. (My 4 brothers are all car guys too.) and I drove the car several hundred miles in 90 degree heat with no trouble at all. The car has always been dependable but this is what I did before the trip. Installed a rebuilt wiper motor and new wiper blades. New brake switch. New heater motor with new temp. sending unit. Added an alternator. Blasted and painted the 56 intake. Removed the old carb and installed a new Eldelbrock carb. (idles and performs great). New fan belt. All new hoses and clamps. Had the radiator and heater core pressure tested and painted. Added new seat belts. (2 pair front and 2 pair rear) . New dual exhaust with glass packs so the Y- block would sound like a Y-block ford should sound. I didn't want any trouble and didn't have any. I have no idea what the true mileage is but would never change or rebuild the engine as long as it runs good. The tires are bias ply and are getting old but I can't think of anything else the car needs. I'm sure I will regret selling this car but my brothers and I have decided to meet each year with different cars so it's time to start a new project. A pick up or a roadster maybe. The car is not concours but nice. The pictures tell the story. It has a nice tight front end with no play in the steering and good brakes. Runs and drives wonderful. Almost everything is new and should make someone very happy for many years to come. I have described it the best I can. Please E-mail for more details and don't forget this car is worth more money every year so it's a great investment. I reserve the right to end the auction because I have the car advertised locally. Please come and look or send someone to look at this car. I say again this car is not concours. There are things in life that change our minds so make sure you want this car (and your wife has agreed) before bidding. This car is being sold as is and where is. All shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer and the car will not be released until all moneys haved cleared my bank. I will need a $1000. 00 non refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction end and the balance paid in 7 days. Money transfer, or cash in hand when picking up the car. Moneys must clear my bank before car is picked up and I will do my best to work with your shipper. Best if car is paid for and picked up before Oct. 2nd. I do not think that you will ever find a 56 ford convertible with all this done for less. If you are looking for a great deal, I believe this is it. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
