Vehicle Detail
1969 Chevrolet Camaro .... RS, SS, Z28?? v8, Automatic, bucket seats.Factory AC carPower steeringManual brakesFactory vinyl top carRebuilt 400 small block, bored to 406, Edlebrock air gap intake, Edlebrock carb, electric fanRebuilt TH350 trans with GM 10 bolt rearend This car has a history, and while I don't know it all in extensive detail, I will tell you what I know about it. I bought this car from the owner that did/had the restoration work done to it. Although not completely done, he lost interest and parked it in his barn under a cover where it has been for several years until I got it a few months ago. I had intended to go thru it and restore it, but stumbled onto another car that I am going to put my time into. The only thing I have done to it is wash the inch of dust off, sweep out the interior. It is a good looking car from a couple feet. Up close it has some body work coming thru, needs some parts adjusted, needs some parts to finish it, needs a tune up, needs a good going thru! It was almost there, and then put away and forgot about. We have it running and driving now... ready for new owner. Here is the story of the Camaro to the best of my understanding: I don't know when, but at some point this car was stolen and partially stripped down. Indiana Police recovered the vehicle, and the guy I got it from bought it from sheriff sale. When found it was stripped of all VIN numbers, none can be found that I know of. Indiana BMV reassigned it a custom IN VIN number, as they do when you build a trailer or kit car from scratch. The VIN tag and title now have a VIN of "MVIN5420IND". It is a clean and clear title registered in Indiana. Run a police check on it, it comes back as a legit 1969 Camaro. After it was bought it was missing parts, so the restoration to where it is now began and it has: It has a GM small block 400, bored to 406, not sure of details on what's inside it, but it has a nice cam and sounds super healthy! Built professionally by a local engine builder, was told it was close to $10k for the engine and trans rebuild. Has virtually no miles on rebuild. The car has had the quarter panels replaced, looks like full quarters cut up to the top fender line, both sides. Appears to have some filler where quarters and rockers meet up.. don't know if rockers had rust or been replaced, seem solid.Has had new floor pans installed, looks like a great job, not all hacked up and patched. Passenger door looks to have a skin on it, not perfect. Drivers door looks solid, just needs adjusted to close up the gaps and match up.Brand new Goodmark steel cowl hoodNew grille with RS headlight covers, they are fixed covers, not flip up. Does NOT have all the flip up hardware.Trunk pans are solid & original around shock towers. The middle of trunk pan has some rust here and there (see pic). Should have middle section of floor pan replaced to be right.New gas tank.Brand new tires on ralley wheels with all centers and rings.New padded vinyl topHas buckets with console and auto on floor.. not sure if true to car or not??New interior, seat covers, carpet, headliner, door panels.. smells musty from sitting in barnThe heater/condenser box on the firewall in the engine bay is broken/partially missing. Heater core still intact and hooked up. Feel free to ask any questions, Ill answer them to the best of my knowledge.. all that is listed is what I know about the history, you wont gain anything by asking me any more about that! This is a great start, project, or with just a little work a good driver. It is being sold as is where is, I bought it without driving it, so will you. No joy rides. Being sold as is-where is. Its a 1969, don't expect a 2009. Located just south of Indianapolis.
