Vehicle Detail
This all original car has been stored inside and not driven or started since 1989. During that time it received it's surface rust which accounts for it's patina. The only real through is in the rear quarter. Otherwise this is a very solid car. The floors are flawless, as are the pinch welds along the body and doors. The original interior cleaned up well and only has a small seam tear and the piping worn away on the side of the driver's seat. Original carpets are wonderful as are the back seats. The dash has a few small cracks and is missing the access panel covers. All windows work as do the signals, headlights, brake lights and interior lights. The front seat didn't want to work when I tried it, but it just may need to be lubed. All the cigarette lighters have never been used and work. The clock even works. The radio didn't receive any stations, but that may be due to the antenna not going up. The wheel tilts and telescopes fine. It has it's original 429 engine with factory air. The car does turn over and holds all its fluids without leaking so I have no doubt that it would run with fluid exchange and a fresh tune up. The gas tank should also be boiled out for safety. The brakes do work and it looks like someone did a brake job prior to parking it, yet the drums should be turned to get rid of residual rust. The compressor turns and it should be able to be restored to it's former coolness. The undercarriage has surface rust on the frame and exhaust, but it's just surface rust like the body. There are spots where the original undercoating has come off and it shows spotless floor pans with no rust. All chrome and stainless is there and present very well with only a few small dents. The tires are the ones that it went into storage with, so they are weathered and only good for rolling. The car will need to be put on a trailer. Some options other than the factory air are the Twilight Sentinel (automatic headlamp timer), Guide-matic (headlamp control), Eldorado horn and remote control trunk lock. The car also comes with the original owners manual and accessory guide in the Cadillac blue plastic folder. The odometer shows 28,068 and considering the condition of the car, it's interior and it's bright work, I believe that they may be original miles, although I can't assure that. This car is a great survivor and would only need a new quarter panel, a fresh paint job and a tune up to be a top notch expensive mid-1960's Classic American Cadillac. In a few years, even this car will be untouchable for the average car enthusiast. Buy a piece of American history!! Sold with bill of sale. No title at present.
