Vehicle Detail

Description Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 You are looking at a RARE 1970 Ford Mustang 2 door Convertible that is from the ORIGINAL family owner. They are elderly and have decided it is time to part with their pride and joy that they bought new in 1970. Below is a video collection of the car in action: Please scroll down and enjoy the 150+ photos. If you cannot view all the photos, please click here. This Ford Mustang was the owner's cherished possession and has been extremely well kept. It has been garage stored and well maintained. This car appears to be completely stock. Note that it has an AM radio, tilt wheel, power brakes, 302 V8, and power top, as well as dual sport mirrors and automatic transmission. This car was purchased in 1970 and used the car for parades and was in local car shows. This beauty has the 302 Ford V8 with the automatic transmission. The owner is a retired engineer and has meticulous records including every gas fill and oil was changed every 3000 miles. The engine was rebuilt about 13,000 miles ago, as well as a new radiator and front end work. Note every piece of documentation that is including with the sale. This may be the most documented 1970 Ford Mustang Convertible on the planet! It was rustproofed by Ziebart when new as well. It appears to have had some paintwork but believe the panels to be original to the car. It sports a black vinyl interior and we believe the mileage to be original. The colors in the photos we due to direct sunlight and did affect the photos to a degree on the driver's side. Mechanically, this vehicle is surprisingly clean and tight, and runs well. The doors work well and we are surprised how clean this car is. The top works well, but as you can see, it may be time to consider a new top as this one is original we believe. The lights and other accessories work, but the tilt wheel is a bit loose. Please see the photos showing a bit of corrosion in one area of the passenger floor pan/rocker area. The subframe and underbody is far better than most but that area is there. We are guessing it is from water that collected there. We cannot warranty any parts and as with any vintage vehicle, they are always a project in some way. Please note this before bidding if you are looking for a vehicle that will operate like a new vehicle. Collector cars are many times tempermental and reliability can be a factor on some. We also did not test each accessory or feature, and only drove the vehicle for a short distance. Also note there are marks and dings from use and age, including the front bumper as shown. Any of these should be trailered to their destination until the vehicle is checked over for safety (tires, etc). The title is free and clear, and we are also requiring a bill of sale be signed by the new owner stating this car is being purchased as-is. It is being sold to settle an estate. It is a straight car as you can see in the photos. The colors are great and it is very old school. As stated, it gets a ton of attention and would make a great addition to your collection. Please call our store at (414) 727-0600 for additional information on this vehicle. Best of all, we are selling this beauty with NO RESERVE, but do reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally.
