For Sale, a 1971 BMW R75/5 in good shape. This bike was purchased as a potential project to re-create a bike I rode around on with my Dad back in the day. It became the project that wasn't. I decided to ride it around for a season, on weekends etc., and if I liked it, I would send it off to MAXBMW for a complete resto, and and a few concessions to modern amenities, and perhaps a 1000cc kit, or racing drum brake. I rode it and loved it. That's pretty much where it ended. Fast forward three years, and this project is not going to happen. So the bike has been sitting and while it is still in good shape, it's time to sell it. It's a perfect bike for either a budding or experienced Airhead to have and enjoy. What it needs: A battery, fresh gas, and possibly the carbs will require cleaning (probably). An oil change, plugs at most and it will be a runner. I don't know if it's had any other services such as clutch splines lubed etc. Tires are in good shape, and I have taken many pics to show the condition of the bike, no oil leaks, etc. There is a divot in the seat where something was laying on it but that will push back out as the foam regains it's shape. Also included is a Wixom Bros. fairing which will need some hardware to complete mounting. A word about the odometer: It ticked off the miles as I rode it, so in that regard it's accurate. I state 9218 miles, but it is a '71. No way 109K but still. Sale is final, buyer is responsible for shipping/pick-up from zip code 06492.
