Vehicle Detail
My wife has finally, Finally FINALLY agreed to sell her beloved 740i. She fell in love with the new 7 Series when introduced in 1995, and had to have one. By the time she decided exactly which colors and options she wanted it was late in '95. What ultimately motivated the purchase was for '96 BMW only brought in the slightly longer 740iL's. The only difference to the iL is a few more inches of rear legroom, which she didn't need, and a few thousand dollars more. So we searched the country to find an Arctic Silver/Grey Leather model with the Winter Package, as heated seats are a necessity once you've had them. We purchased the car in January of '96 from Patrick European Auto in Chicago, and had it shipped, enclosed air-ride, to our home in Dallas. Since that time, this car has Never, Ever spent a night outdoors. Even when traveling, Hotels are determined by their Parking Garages. Ditto for restaurants, theaters, appointments, etc. Would you believe I asked my own Mother to give up her garage when we visited? True. This car has been pampered. Since new, only one factory trained BMW mechanic has serviced it. It has always been treated as a second car, hence the extremely low mileage. No Accidents. When it is likely to sit in the garage for more than a few days, we often put its fitted car cover over it, just because we can. Keeps it a little bit warmer in the winter too... You get the idea? Well, finally, my wife has a new car. If you recognize this car, yes, it was listed, and sold, in January. That was at the time we ordered her new car, and silly me, I thought that was the signal she was ready to sell. Not so; she changed her mind and the buyer was disappointed, but understood and agreed to cancel the transaction. If you saw the listing then, the car bid to $6,500 which was a giveaway price, but hey, its 17 years old, and its time to let someone else enjoy it. This time I have an absolute understanding from/with my wife that her/this car can/will be sold. January mileage was 68,4xx; Mileage this morning was 70,088.The maintenance history is fully documented, and of course, completely up to date. All routine maintenance is done without regard to cost with genuine BMW parts. The A/C is perfectly frigid. The lights and lenses show no fading/crazing/cracking as a sun-baked car always does. The leather is soft and supple. The premium stereo, 10 speakers, 200 watts plays like a concert hall. Recent service highlights include a new radiator, brakes, new battery, some suspension stuff, etc. Emissions tested last month as part of annual inspection, clean report as always. There is only one scratch, about 1/4", back by the gas filler door, see picture. As few of the dash pixels are out, mostly at the outside temperature gauge, typical. The interior and carpets are perfect, including the trunk area. There hasn't been a sticky fingered kid within 10 feet, the alarm system is tuned for this. There is only ONE maintenance issue for you to consider, that is the tires are going to need to be replaced in the next few thousand miles. Other than that, you will be buying a super creampuff car that you will enjoy for years to come. I will be happy to answer any questions. I want to keep this transaction as simple and clean as possible - $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction end via Paypal, and the balance within 6 days. Car is sold absolutely as-is, where-is. Bring your license plates and enjoy the drive home in "The Ultimate Driving Machine", and likely one of the best 95 740's out there. Thank you. OH, and I have no input into the AutoCheck data you can link to....looks like registration/inspection data mostly.
