This 1941 Chevy truck half ton short box, was originally owned by the city of Sparta Wisconsin. They sold the truck to the second owner who drove it until the mid 1970's. The truck was then sold to the previous owner who stored it indoors and never got to doing anything with it. I bought it with the intention to keep it and get the truck running again to use it for advertising our used car lot (63 miles from sparta wi.) I did a complete tune up to the truck including points, a condenser, plugs, ,ignition switch and key. I had a volt regulator put on, new exhaust, good tires put on, and a rebuilt carburator. The wheels still show the original pin strip and the black paint on them shows well. The tires on the truck are good. The frame has no rust and the body is complete. The seat has the original springs and should be recovered. (has a seat cover on it now). As my video shows,the truck starts up on the first crank with the starter pedal on the floor. After running and driving the truck, I found the rare three speed shifted exactly the way it should. As the video shows, the truck drives 45 to 50 mph without any play and does not overheat. The brakes still need to be redone and all the original parts are still there.(rebuild master cyl and new shoes etc.) I would replace the valve cover gasket etc.. ,there was leakage after driving the truck 3 miles over 40 mph. The gas tank should be cleaned as a precaution before using it (I ran on aux fuel tank for video) this truck in my opinion could be prepped with very little body work and shot with clear coat to keep the patina!!!!or you could take it to the next level and restore it to a showtruck. THIS IS A RARE 1/2 TON SHORT BOX ALL ORIGINAL WITH A CLEAN WISCONSIN NUMBERS MATCHING TITLE. All the glass is in the truck and the windows go up and down the way they should. the glass looked good but the rear window has a crack in it. (all spots pictured I could find) I do not want to overcall this chevy or undercall it, let the video, pictures, and description tell the story. I require a 500 non refundable paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not receive the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. No exceptions.
