1999 Chevy Malibu mechanics special. This car is clean inside and out. It is being sold at less than half Kelly Blue book due to the fact that it looses coolant. 3.1 v-6. The car runs very well and smoothe with no misses, etc.. but coolant has to be added @every 50 miles or so. Many new parts have been put on the car such as new intake gaskets, water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, battery etc. but still it has the loss of coolant from the recovery tank. It has been checked for exhaust gas in the coolant system and although not conclusive, came up negative.(I personally think that the car has a blown head gasket but the mechanic did not think so) The coolant is going somewhere. It will be a money maker for someone who is mechanically inclined and can do the work. The body is very good, everything works on the car with the exception of the A/C(may just need a charge) and the left rear window will not go down(probably a relay) The tires are good, no check engine light or anything odd other than the coolant loss. The car can be driven, but coolant will have to be replaced periodically, therefore I would recommend a tow dolly for transporting. It is very clean inside and out and once repaired would make a very nice car. I do not intend to spend anymore on the car, therefore I am selling. The car is sold as is where is with no warranty express or implied. I have tried to list everything I know that is wrong with the car.
