Available here is a local Las Vegas RM465 which appears to have low hours . Indications of this low time are the swingarm condition which has very little chain damage . Also footpegs have little play , the underside is very clean and chamber headpipe is nearly dent free . It still has the original plastic countershaft cover !!!! and the case protector guard . There is no damage to cases from chain being thrown . There is nearly no play in the shock linkage and full floater stickers still there . Engine has excellent compression , clutch works well and engages smoothly and properly . Tranny shifts smooth . I pulled the reed cage when I cleaned the carb and the piston looked good and fresh . Appears to have a boyesen dual stage carbon reed pedels . Newer O ring chain and sprockets . Bars straight ,subframe straight . Rear shock needs rebuilt - spongy . As with most of our desert bikes , the lack of rain and low humidity eliminates rust - the fork tubes and rear shock shaft do not have pitting or rusting . Front rim could use a little trueing rear is straight . pipe could use some attention at silencer mount . Missing half of throttle assy. Airbox cage is complete but foam filter probably needs replaced. .Sold on a Bill Of Sale from our dealership as there is no title with this 82 mx bike. Sorry if I did not explain well . My main heading line says " runs well" . It starts first kick with the carb cleaned , has strong compression , no unusual engine noise or piston slap [ although it is an air cooled big bore which inheritently echos a lot of noise ] , trans shifts well , clutch engages smoothly . Seems to carburate smoothly but without both throttle housing halves ,I was limited on hard throttle application [ I had to hold the grip stationary and turn the housing with my thumb ] .On Jul-09-13 at 12:12:16 PDT, seller added the following information: It is a 4 speed . I believe there are MANY choices for RM parts. Not for sure but the RM 500 has many interchangable parts [ except the bore size ] . The attractive feature of this bike is the mechanicals are good.
