Vehicle Detail

This is not your grandpa’s Cadillac! 1968 DeVille convertible. Platinum over Arctic White, maroon interior. VDO gauges in custom dash. Custom door inserts to match dash. Custom console with modern stereo. Big inch Caddy mill assembled by CarTech. Best of everything including Maximum Torque Specialties, Comp Cams, Sanderson, Bubba’s Speed Equipment, Flowmaster and a nice honkin’ Holley built by Speed Junkies Racing Carburetors. Want a choke??? Also have an Edelbrock 1406 plus an 825 cfm Rochester that goes with her. Valve covers and radiator pipes hand fabricated out of aluminum. Heads have hardened seats so no lead additive necessary there. Runs OK on regular…prefers premium. Car has a hydrogen fuel conversion still installed. Worked for a bit but never got the bugs out. Current technology is better and all info plus spares come with car. She has a huge 3 core aluminum radiator with 2 2300 cfm Procomp fans (brand new) and a shroud. Driveshaft was rebuilt 5 years ago by Indianapolis Rack And Axle. If you know anything about these cars, you know it isn’t about changing u-joints. This has “double velocity joints” on each end and it takes custom machining to redo one and it isn’t cheap…about the cost of a couple of Macco paint jobs. Rear end was redone by Bradley Transmission 2 ½ years ago and the Turbo 400, torque converter, flex plate and starter were just replaced by him 2 weeks ago. Front converted to disc brakes using all late model GM parts and Scarebird brackets. If you go to their website and look at the photos of the Caddy brake conversion, it’s this car. Interior was done by the late Donas Singleton of Don’s Auto Trim in Indianapolis. It has some years on it and some wear, but I never changed it because my friend did the work. Still looks presentable, just not “sharp”. Car has vintage air and heat…but needs a bit of finesse here. System shorted out on first fire and of course the installer shrugged his shoulders and murmered “not my fault”. Hardware is there. I also located the ductwork to replace what he tossed from under the dash and it’s included. Chrome is presentable but is almost 10 years old. Could be redone depending upon your mood. Right front bumper end is pretty nasty due to a close encounter with a curb 3 days after her maiden voyage (yep…almost 10 years now). I have a replacement but never had it chromed. Car is lowered 5 ½” in front and 4 ½” in rear. This is done with a combination of coil clipping and tire. Rides great and handles like an Indy Car. No bags here……17” American Racing KMC 701 wheels front and rear. P245/40/17 fronts and P255/50/17 rears. Stance is great and she rides like a dream. Fronts have approx 60% tread, rears 80%. Paint and body work was done by Coopers Auto Body (Best D*** Shop In Town). Minimal rust originally, but her floorboards and trunk floor were patched 10 years ago. She needs a bit of her lipstick touched up, but that’s why I used stock colors. Striping by Lit’l Bill here in Indy and its paint, not tape. Top is 6 years old and shows it. It needs cleaned well or dyed. All cables and seals were replaced when the top was done. This car runs good, drives good, stops good, looks good. Honestly she is probably 2-3 grand away from being a high end show car again, but if you do that you won’t want to drive her. She gets 12 MPG average which isn’t bad….. This car will give you instant credibility at any major show or tour. Many time Power Tour vehicle. Hot Rod Magazine said in print it was their favorite big car of the tour. Used in GM Performance Display PT ’09, NAPA PT ’10, Spectre Performance PT’11. One of 182 cars out of thousands that was selected to be a part of the Comp Cams 35th anniversary poster. Out of the thousands of cars on the PT, this was one of 7 selected by the Web magazine “My Ride Is Me” for their Power Tour feature. Been in print in Hot Rod Magazine, Gauge Magazine (cover car), and on television shows. I have close to 80 grand in this and although I know I will never get close to that, it also isn’t a 10k car. I have double that in paint and chrome. Reserve is reasonable. Even of you don’t bust it, being high bidder earns you the right to negotiate with me. Car is sold As Is, Where Is. I will need a 2000 dollar non refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction close. Overseas bidders are ok, as long as any instrument of conveyance turns to cold hard cash prior to your shipper picking her up. My effort on any shipping is opening the garage door and handing someone the keys. You need a feedback of 10 minimum with no negatives to play on this ride….if not you must contact me prior to bidding. Vehicle is located in Indianapolis. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Any questions? Contact me at Kidcadillac58@yahoo.com
