Vehicle Detail
If you're looking at this auction you already know how awesome these cars are so I won't go into all that. Its a 750il so has the v12 engine. Runs very well, no mechanical issues. If I were to keep it I would do the 90k tuneup. The cosmetic defects are that it has some door dings, some fading near the sunroof, a trim piece missing on the right rear passenger door, and the driver's window came off the track and broke. Its double paned and I have the replacement window ready to go in the box, along with the switch just in case that doesn't work anymore. It also comes with 19" chrome rims. I'm sure I could install the window, get it waxed and tuned up and sell it for $8000+ but I don't want to. This was my husband's car (title in my name) and he went off to Afghanistan and left me here with a newborn baby and all the construction projects. So I'm starting this auction at $1 and whatever it sells for that's fine. I have enough things to do without adding automotive repair to the list and he can just be mad when he doesn't have his car to come home to. At least he still has a wife! The picture is an old one, but I wanted to go ahead and get the auction started, so I will update it with new pictures once I have them... You can come see it (I'll meet you somewhere public) if you wish. I am selling it as is, and if there are any Maryland bidders contact me first- your DMV inspections are brutal so I don't want you bringing it back because it has a water spot on the rearview or something and fails. They actually failed me for a dirty carpet once! Stupid. Anyway, it passes DC inspection just fine and the title is clear and sitting on my desk. Yes, its listed locally so if I get an offer I think is fair I'll end the auction early, but if the bidding is in full swing and already at a fair price then I'll turn down the offer and just let the auction play out. Happy Bidding! On Jun-29-13 at 14:43:25 PDT, seller added the following information: ** I must have not hit the right button and ebay won't let me change it... The interior is GRAY not GOLD On Jun-29-13 at 15:04:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm sorry- one more revision... If you don't like the chrome wheels (I don't) there is also a set of 18" inch polished aluminum ones out there if you prefer. Actually, I think there are two different sets of those. My husband changed them out twice a year for whatever reason. Regardless, you have a few to choose from. But this auction will be for the car with the ones it has on it (chrome), the other set would be extra. Just let me know if you're interested in those, I can either put it in another auction or just sell them to you when you come pick up the car. On Jun-30-13 at 14:03:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok, I brought it around front to take pictures (they are now uploaded). I can't seem to take off the others, but you can at least see what it looks like when its clean! I took it for a test drive to make sure everything was good. Mechanically it was, except for a few things: 1. it was raining so I put on the wipers and they stopped mid stride, checked the fuse- its blown. I didn't have any spares. 2. The steering feels stiff, but that could be because I'm used to my Range Rover. 3. The brakes are making a noise, but that may be because it has been raining for days and the rotors might be rusty. Regardless- check the brakes. 4. There is pixelation on the displays. 5. Another outside trim piece is loose (driver's side). Other than that its good. Still does 80 on the highway like its a butterfly. Now- this car is filthy! I can't believe Vinson let it get that way! Gross. The white marks on the driver's door is from tape residue (he had a bag taped over the window). I'll give him somewhat of a break because it would be hard going to the car wash with a broken window, but there is no excuse for the trim pieces. There were a lot of loose pieces and the headliner is drooping. I took the loose pieces and put them in the trunk. I am not however going to get out there and scrub down his mess, so bid accordingly. Like I said, I don't much care how much it sells for I just want it off the carport so I can have room for all the construction debris. Also, there are a lot of bids on this already and a bunch of people have been interested, so please stop sending me offers to buy it outright. I don't think its fair to the people bidding to just yank it out from under them. If you want it just bid on it. I took down the local ad too, so whomever is the top bidder gets it. On Jul-02-13 at 12:27:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I lied- I am going to go clean up his mess. I couldn't bring myself to sell a dirty car so I spent 2 hours scrubbing, polishing and waxing. And now its raining again. (Some guy asked if I was leaving it out in the rain without a window... uhhhh no. Its taped up- redneck but it works.) That double paned glass is expensive so I didn't want to take a chance breaking the new window trying to install it. Anyway its quite a pretty car now- I'll have to update the photos. I might get a medal for the longest ebay description! And be prepared, I talk just as much in person. I can't help it, I'm southern :) BTW- Kelly Blue Book on this is $6100 for the lowest value, and even trade-in price is listed at $4700. If I didn't love my Rover so much, I think I'd trade it in on a new car! Ok, I swear this is the last revision. On Jul-03-13 at 11:02:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I just replaced the wiper fuse. Apparently that fuse controls the power steering, the wipers, and the trunk mechanism. Steering is as smooth as butter now and wipers work. I took it to Carmax this morning just to see, and I must say they gave me a pretty darn good offer. The current high bidder g***1 is out of state and mentioned he might have some issues getting up here, so if nobody else is interested I might end this auction early, even though I said I wouldn't. I don't want to disappoint anyone, so if there are more bids tonight I'll leave it up. Thanks, and I hope nobody gets mad at me.
