Vehicle Detail

1968 Dodge Charger This is a very complete car needing a restoration, or fix a few things and get it back on the road. Engine is a 440 (originally was a 383 car). Block is a 71 casting I believe. The fuel pump has a broken fitting, so I attached an electric pump to the carb from a gas can, attached a battery and it started right up (really, hardly turned over). It had been sitting without running since 1997! I put new oil in it, filled up the trans fluid, power steering fluid and radiator, and had it running for about 10 minutes with no problems. It has dual exhaust, automatic 727 trans, 8.75 rearend (unknown gear ratio or posi?). The car does not drive as you have to keep a gas can attached to it, and the brakes need to be rebuilt. It will need to be loaded onto a trailer - you cannot drive this home, or onto a trailer safely - but the engine does run and if you want to come check it out, I can fire it up for you. Body: It has the usual rust on the quarters, over the wheel-wells, bottom of rear window, floors, trunk, lower fenders and doors, and some around taillights. Typical stuff. It was originally yellow with black vinyl top - repainted orange long time ago. Roof is not pitted and looks to be solid. All the trim is there except for the antenna mast, and one of the lower corner pieces from the back window. The pic shows all three lower back window pieces missing, but two of them are inside the car. The grill is a little warped, but is not broken (amazing huh?) All glass is there, windshield has a star crack from a rock or something, windows roll up and down fine. Interior: All seats are there - front seats are good, back is not (see pic). Carpet was taken out long time ago to keep it from holding water and ruining the floors even more. Dash is complete minus radio. Tach is clamped to steering column. Frame is solid - no rust. Tank leaks over half full and needs replaced. I've build about 26 chargers in the last 10 years (see my site scotlea.com) and this is a very good car to start with - I simply don't need it and would like someone else to build it. Please ask all questions before bidding. Email patrick@scotlea.com, use Ask Seller a Question, or call Patrick at Scotlea Hot Rods 918-231-3605. Deposit of $500 due within 24 hours of auction end via paypal. Remainder due within 7 days via cash, cashiers check or bank wire. I'm pretty serious about this. Please have the money to cover your bid. Title will be released when funds clear. Shipping is your responsibility - I can help load. Car must be picked up within 2 weeks of auction end. It will be stored outside. Thanks for looking!!!!
