Two 1981 Cadillac Seville’s we bought the maroon one in 1997 from a friend after her husband died. These are the 4-6-8, 6.1 Liter engines (this set up allows the engine to only use the cylinders necessary for the load at the time and works very well Cadillac used this set up for 2 or three years in the early 80’s) both run very well the grey one was bought for a parts car 3rd gear and reverse are out in the transmission I drove it home in second 25 miles it runs very well. I have removed the starter and replaced the one on the maroon one the old starter is in the grey trunk. The brake booster has also been removed though it was bad so had to buy a new one for the maroon one. This is the most luxurious car I have ever owned and it gets ~ 18 MPG but was not practical as a tow car. I am in the process of restoring a classic and a couple antiques so need the room to work. Both cars have been in my shop since I bought them so have not been exposed to the weather. I have only put ~ 5,000 miles on the car since we bought it, I would not hesitate to drive across country though the tires should probably be replaced first. You will notice in the pictures there is some crazing of the paint and some rock chip pitting around the front lights. I have replaced the vacuum pump which aids to make the cruise control work smoothly. Also new are the lift cylinders on the hood, the ones in the trunk need to be replaced notice the stick support. Shop Manual and code book are included. Also a very small trans leak less then 1 pint in five years I keep cardboard under it in the shop. I retain the right to sell locally.
