1981 Jeep CJ7 LAREDO - NO RESERVE!!!This is a perfect summer cruiser Jeep! Laredo's are one of the more sought after Jeep packages because of their rarity and low numbers produced. This particular Laredo spent nearly 10 years parked on a farm in Texas. It was brought out to Colorado and a lot of money spent making it road worthy. It has no problems around town, in the mountains, on the highway or keeping up with traffic. Although it is not a perfect Jeep it has lower miles, isn't rusted out and mechanically is solid. Engine:2.5L 4 cylinder motor that starts right up, runs strong, no smoke and is smooth. The carburetor was rebuilt, had a tune up along with a new exhaust system a couple years. It doesn't leak any noticeable fluids on the pavement after being driven. The starter makes noise at startup but it doesn't affect its starting capability or running shape. When turning off the key to kill the engine, the motor continues to run, the only way to kill it is to place the Jeep in 5th gear and stall it (Perhaps it could use a new ignition key cylinder or could be an alternator wiring issues)? Transmission/Transfer case:T5 5speed manual transmission that shifts great without any grinding, popping or whining. The clutch was replaced less then a thousand miles ago. The Transfer case is a Dana 300, it shifts easily into both 2wd, 4wd high and 4wd low. It is a solid unit. Suspension:Stock and drives pretty good, a little rough from age but seems to track straight and handle well however could use an alignment steering wheel is off center. Drivetrain/underbody:Stock differentials with stock gears (I believe they are 4.10s). Body:Body overall is in good condition and original. The body has a few spots of rust: passenger fender, below both door cutouts and surface rust spots on the interior. The fender flares are cracked and weathered and could use replacing. The front passenger fender/grill were dented from what I understand was hitting an animal in Texas (it does not affect the drivability or motor at all). It is missing the tailgate and appears that hitch under is pushed up. It has some dings, dents, scratches and blemishes to be expected for a 32year old original Jeep. Paint:Paint is not too shabby and is original COPPER color. It's a very unique color and still reflective and shiny. The driver side step is missing. The paint on the hood has faded in a few spots and the paint is definitely aged with blemishes, scratches and chips. Nice overall Top:The Jeep does not have a top or doors! Interior Guages/switches:The interior lights, turn signals, fuel gauge, heater, wipers, radio and horn do not work. The tach is intermittent and typically works. The headlights, front grill lights and brake lights do work. There is a newer engine temp gauge, water temp gauge in replace of the factory clock and the voltage gauge all works fine. The owner used hand signals for driving around. Interior seats:Seats are in excellent shape. The rear seat is not mounted there is not a bracket so you can either bolt it to the body or get a seat mount. Tires/Wheels:The tires are in good condition with half to 60% remaining. They are BFG All Terrain 30x9.50x15" mounted and balanced on factory chrome laredo wheels. The wheels have clear coat peeling but that can be taken off with aircraft paint stripper if one chooses to clean them up. Extras:Includes a Ramsey 8000lb Winch that works great, includes the remote control. Maintenance:Maintenance records since 2009 1/2009 @90,252 - Rebuilt Carburetor, replaced starter 2/2009 @90,322 - The front exhaust pipe, catalytic converter, muffler and clamps 3/2009 @ 80,262 - replaced parking brake cable, resealed rear diff, replaced rear brake line, replaced front brake hoses, serviced rear wheel cylinders, replaced speedometer cable. 5/2009 @90,905 - replaced clutch master slave cylinder 8/2011 @ approx 93,500 Clutch replaced, flywheel resurfaced, oil change, differentials, transmission, transfer case all serviced with mobil 1, a new air filter and battery. I love Jeeps and do my absolute best to describe the condition as accurate as possible. It is possible I missed something so don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns. Colorado buyers I will furnish an emissions voucher if you live in an emissions county. Out of state buyers, I am not responsible for any state inspection, safety or emissions requirements. The Jeep must be picked up within 10 days from auction ending time. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements, charges but I will gladly help in the process.
