Vehicle Detail

For auction is my 1962 Impala 2 door hardtop. When I purchased the car in Tampa, Florida, 26 years ago, it had an automatic on the floor. I used the car as a daily driver for about 8 years. The small block that was in the car was giving me problems, so I decided to build and install a big block engine. The big block engine that I built for it has never been fired. The engine was built and assembled by Nelson Brothers Racing of Pinellas Park, Florida. The heads were done by Clearwater Cylinder Heads of Clearwater, Florida. It is a 396 block bored out to a 427. Everything is new ......... the water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, starter and carburator. The engine has never been fired, and needs only a flywheel and distributor. The transmission is a Borg Warner T-10 that has been rebuilt and installed. The car has a new windshield, new tires, along with many other new parts including complete new carpet, and new door panels. The master cylinder is new, and the brakes are in good condition. The glass is complete on the car, It needs new lower rocker panels, and patch panels in front of rear wheels. I have all the chrome and trim pieces for the car as well as the complete exhaust system. It needs a headliner and front seat covers. This car has tremendous potential and is show quality under the hood. I regret having to sell my baby, but a recent cancer diagnosis along with other issues leave me with no choice but to sell it rather than complete it. I have had many classic cars in my 62 years. I have restored cars and pickups from the ground up several times. I fully intended to complete the car when I retired, but plans have a way of changing. She's been at home in my garage for 26 years, but I hope someone will finish the restoration, as I think the car has great potential, as a lot of the hard work is done!! My RESERVE IS REASONABLE, so good luck bidding on my favorite car! I can help the purchaser arrange shipping, especially for anyone out of state. Please contact me if you are interested, for I reserve the right to end the auction at any time!
