Vehicle Detail
In one week, summer officially begins! Imagine a sunny day + 1984 red rocket 911 = BEST SUMMER EVER :) The Sixth Generation (1984-1989) is highly desirable in Porsche Collecting Circles. This beauty has been my husband's pampered Porsche 911 since purchase in 2009. In the past 4 years, he has driven it approximately 500 miles each summer. It is burped and babied and only sees the light of day when the sun is shining and the wife is in the mood for a Blizzard at the local DQ. It has also been known to grace the occasional Classic Car Show. This vehicle is road-ready, Carfax Certified, with the original Porsche Warranty Voucher Booklet stating a June 27th, 1984 "birth date" in the US (Bill Cook Porsche Audi, Farmington Hills, MI) Impeccable Upkeep & Maintenance: 3.2 L H6 MPI 5 Speed Manual Transmission Original leather seats Turbo-look upgrade Upgrade to dual exhaust New engine compartment sound deadening mat (heat shield) K&N Air Filter upgrade Rear seat back rests Original car jack and tool kit - all tools are in the kit Rubber inserts for jack pad receiver Brand New Custom-fit top with boot cover Single-side jump cover Custom Carrera Floor Mats New Rear Deck Lid Shocks New Pioneer Cd/Radio Original Paintwork Carbon Fiber Shift Knob Tire Info: New (to us since purchase) Rear 245/40ZR 18 93W Sumitomo HTRZ III Front 225/45 R 17 90W SumitomoHTRZ III *Rims & spacers were updated from what we believe is a 2000 911 Carrera Maintenance at Ralleye Imports, Midland, MI ($2500 in Maintenance) New Clutch and New Clutch Cable Oil Hoses Shaft Seal Gear Oil Conventional Oil Change Engine Compartment Sound Mat (heat shield, reduces engine noise) Also new: DME relay, Ignition Switch, Speed Sensor, Relay Sensor, Cap & Rotor Excerpt from Excellence Porsche Buying Guide 2012 pg 61 "BEST BUY 911 Carrera ($20,000-28,000) The last of the original 911's is also the best, both in terms of refinement and bang for the buck despite costing a few grand more than its 2.7 and 3.0 predecessors. What do you get for the extra dough? A more powerful, more reliable engine, mostly, along with a number of detail changes that make the Carrera that little bit better than the SC. If you want a classic-looking 911 with real reliability and longevity, the Carrera is the one to get." Serious Porsche Buyer's Only Please Just a few responses to common questions we have received on this Porsche. l. Yes, I am a licensed autobroker in the state of MI (since 2001), trusted "old-school" ebay seller since 1999, we've shipped all over the world. 2. Yes, this is my hub's personal vehicle...we are selling his 'Baby' to bank $ for our babies Ferris State Univ Tuition! :) 3. Yes, I have lots of interior shots avail. There are no rips/tears/cracks/etc. It's in excellent condition. There's a tiny half moon indent in one spot underneath the glove box...send me your email with specifics and I will shoot you off more pics. 4. We believe there have been only 4 owners (we are the 4th) in the past 29yrs...even tho Autocheck shows 6, it is our belief it counts transferring hands thru an autobroker as a transaction. Orig owner was a doctor from mid-west, possibly OH. 5. CAUTION! An ebayer questioned the new top and it's ability to withstand running through an automatic carwash? The top was special ordered from CA and is standard for these cars. It fits a bit looser for ease in folding up/down (which is not recommended in cold weather as it "cracks" the window). The top is brand-new and will not leak with proper usage. BUT, if a buyer is so inclined to think of running this classic 911 through a carwash, please PASS on this auction...go directly to JAIL for even entertaining the thought! JUNE 27th: Appreciate all the emails & interest from the west coast of the US to the south, from Germany/Netherlands and others :) To date we have received 12 offers on the vehicle. The system automatically weeds out any under $20K. There are no known issues with this vehicle as it is up to date on mechanics/etc and yes, all the guages work including the clock & odo. It's a solid $25K vehicle that we are offering at a reasonable price, because we can & that's the way we roll :) Feel free to ask specifics. *Guessing $400 to ship from midwest to east coast, and approx $1500 for drive-on/shipping to Europe. thx, Angie
