If you have been waiting for the "Perfect" Beemer to show up on eBay -- your wait is over. There are a bunch or R1200RT's on the eBay auction block right now, so please take a careful reading of this description, review the photos, and compare my bike with the competition. I believe you'll find this bike is the best equipped, it makes the best showing, and is by far the best value out there I am the second owner of this great machine, having purchased it last summer. It was pretty well set up when I bought it, but I have added most every option and useful (read expensive) accessory available. Check the list that follows. So why am I selling it? main reason is that I will have my 76th birthday this year and as much as I hate to admit it, my long distance motorcycle touring days are about over. I have owned four R1200RTs over the years (and many airheads before that) and have traveled all over our great country. A sport touring Beemer is definately the way only to go for comfort, handling, reliability, and safety. This bike has never been down, there are NO blemishes, scratches, or dents anyplace - - this includes the vulnerable places like the saddlebags, valve covers, and mirrors. The 24,000 mile scheduled maintenance was just completed. This set me back over $500 -- just doing the "routine" items on the BMW checklist. In fact, that's my main complaint with Beemers, they're expensive to service. The good news is that with the new tires, battery, and brakes on this bike, you will not need to do anything except put gas in it for the next 12,000 miles or so. It is kind of a rare color although there are a couple on the market now. I have all the maintenance records and the original owner's manual.
