Vehicle Detail
1987 Cadillac Allante 144,000 miles 4.1 liter V8 Pinin Farinia Styled Aluminum Body 1987 Cadillac Allante -- One of only 3,363 produced Does Have VA Salvage Tittle Runs and drives but needs work. Qualifies for Classic tags which means no inspection and property tax Have some spare parts to complete and factory service manual on CD Our Cadillac Allante was made in Italy with Cadillac mechanicals. The car was then flown back to the U.S. aboard specially fitted Boeing 747's. This rare and expensive two-seater luxury sports car has only 30,000 miles on it since new. It was a one owner car until we bought it for the collection. The removable hard top has a black fabric soft top under the boot. This car is in original showroom condition. The MSRP for this Allante in 1987 was $54,700. It is a fine car, but not many traditional Cadillac buyers were willing to part with that kind of money for a two-seater back in 1987. Call Dave at 757-576-6715 On May-19-13 at 12:46:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I have made a mistake with the listing as I used an excerpt from a web page stating original price of car. This also said car had 30,000 miles and a hardtop. My car has 145000 miles and NO hardtop. I have located a hardtop and softop from another silver 1987 that I will give the winning bidder the info if desired. Sorry for the mix up. The car was suppose to replace an Alfa spider for my son after he wrecked it but we ended up buying a newer car for him instead. This car would make a great car for somone to tinker with and if you classic car laws are like ours, you can drive it as is while fixing it up which is always the best way to keep you motivated on a project. thanks daveOn May-22-13 at 08:33:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Lets start Again. Everybody keeps asking the same questions and does not read the answers posted so please read this before asking any more questions. We Bought this cadillac on 03/29/2013 from a local police officer here in virginia beach. He was keeping it at a local car lot as he worked on his free time. The car lot was closing and he had to move this and about six other cars. He told me he bought this car a few years ago from a guy in NEW YORK off of EBAY himself. It was running and driving when he bought it but for some reason he never tittled it. The tittle was a North Carolina tittle and he just passed to me. I then got a VA salvage tittle in my name. When he got the car he had the key but lost them therefore I could not start it at first. I Bought a new ignition switch and charged up the battery and car would not turn over. I removed the starter and cleaned the commutator and electrical connections. The car than started up. We changed the oil and filter with Mobil one sythetic. We then began to go over the car to see what it needed. My SON then lost interest and we just bought him a 2002 chrysler sering convertible instead and now this car is for sale. We first had an Alfa spider that he wrecked which started the whole car swapping process. I myself would not drive a car that has been sitting for many years and great distance before I knew more about the car. I drive this car around the block once a week when I mow the grass as it sits in the yard so that it the extent of the diving it has. I have probbally only drivin the car for 30 miles. I do leave it running sometimes for more than 30 minutes with NO overheating issues. The electric fans both cycle as they should. While we were going over car we found a rusted front left brake line and repalced it. I removed the brake resivior and cleaned it and put fesh DOT 4 fluid in it. The right rear brake caliper seemed like it was frozen and we took it apart. The dust seal was damaged but the caliper operates freely. I got TWO NEW seal and boot kits from ebay for the rear brakes as well as the right rear flexable brake line. The brakes DO work right now but NOT the emergency brake. I have checked out the dash functions and here goes. Main display Says good evening when turning key ON. Then it says SYSTEM FAULT SERVICE SOON. It also says a bounch of lights are out on the car such as right high and low beam, courtesy lamp, centerbrake light, dash lamp, left brake and turn signal. Electronic climate control diplay comes ON but does not seem to operate. It displays ECON 75F NORM FAN. Radio comes ON and Antenna Goes up But someone has removed all the speakers. The car has been cut up for two 6x9 speakers and an 8 inch subwoofer behind the seats. Winshield wipers work but the wiper blades are worn out. Electric mirrors DO NOT move but I also do not here them trying so could just be wiring. The front winshield is cracked as well as the left headlight. The convertible top is ripped on both sides but the glass is okay. The electric top pull down rear latch works fine. The window switches are broken so I could not test the windows. The steering column is hard to turn and is patially disassemled right now but the power steering is working. I believe this car would probally be better as a parts car the a daily driver as the SALVAGE tittle will never go away and will always refleck on the value of car. Hopefully this had answered all of your questions. I have been buying and selling on EBAY for more than TEN years and have 100% positive feedback with over 800 transactions and just being honest about car as it is a project and nothing more ut at least you can start it up and run around the block.
