Vehicle Detail
This was originally a short body International Loadstar 4x4 dump truck. When I purchased it the previous owner took the dump bed off and left all the hydraulics, pto, lines, etc on the truck. I had an old F-series bed and fitted it onto this truck, added the dually flares and did some rough body work and a quick coat of paint to make her presentable. I also have a tailgate that fits this bed to go with the truck. Make no mistake you’re not going to win any races but this thing still has plenty of power and gears. The transmission was recently rebuilt by the previous owner along with installing a new clutch and rebuilt rear end. Its got juice brakes so anyone can drive it legally… that’s right it’s NOT AN AIR BRAKE TRUCK. I cleaned it up, swapped on new belts and hoses, a new locking hub, and after several months of searching found a modern set of solid steel 22.5 wheels which go with the truck as well. The older ones were dangerous and a pain to get tires for now a days. I’ve also replaced the broken sets of Ubolts that mounted the rear axle. I also have a spare ignition box that goes with this truck too. I have replaced the U joints in the driveshafts 3 years ago they are all greasable and heavy duty and don’t have more than 1,000 miles on them yet. She starts right up and after shes warm runs like a top. The transmission is in good working order as is the transfer case. The truck was sold to me with an 8’ power angle Meyers style plow which is honestly kind of tiny for what this things capable but it does work and angle just fine. From what I remember it did need some minor patching on the mold board and a quick coat of paint to be 100%. The plow system itself is a monarch electric hydraulic unit that’s plumbed thru the front bumper and works flawlessly. It tosses that 8footer around like you wouldn’t believe and I’m sure is capable of handling a full 12’ blade. I had purchased this truck with hopes of landing a big contract plowing for my township but I’ve since downsized my business and I don’t have anywhere to store this beast. It will need a flexible rubber brake line swapped on the drivers front and have a set of 22.5’s mounted on the rear to match the 2 already on the front. Other than that, shes a tight old work truck or would make the ultimate woods or farm truck. Kids love it, they think it looks like mater from the movie Cars, this is a really really neat old truck that begs to have more of a purpose than sitting in my driveway. This is a rare old truck and in parts alone I know for a fact it’s worth almost $6,000 as it sits. Between the 2 ton dana front axle, the divorced transfer case, the transmission, the rear, the onboard PTO hydraulics, the plow set up, let alone the low mile good running IH V8. I am realistic tho and have set a much lower reserve and have taken the work needed into account. So good luck bidding here hopefully one of you can snag it before some local contractor or rockstar redneck scoops it up from its local listing. I will also consider separating the plow set up for a $700 price reduction on the truck.I have a video of start up and running avail w/ email inquiry. On Mar-29-13 at 07:46:36 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a 1600 series IH. The cab tag says its got a 6,000lb Ft end and 11,000lb rear. Also forgot the gas tank will need new holding straps, its been mounted in the vehicle with a heavy climbing rope and despite my usually good sense its been operating this way without incident for the whole time I've owned it
