You are looking at an original rare example of a well preserved and well cared for Jaguar XJ6 Series III Vanden Plas. The Satin Beige base coat/clear coat paint is original the gloss is real and the sign of a garaged automobile; the Doeskin leather interior is also original and flawless. Carpets are original and perfect. There is less than 79,500 miles on the clock or an average of 3038 miles a year. The 4 Michelin tyres are new. The 5 Kent alloy wheels are in excellent condition four with center cap and correct “Growler” in the center. The air conditioning is ice cold and converted to R134A; the dryer the expansion valve, the compressor and the battery were renewed 400 miles ago. At idle (800 RPM) oil pressure is over 40 LBS, system is charging perfectly 13 V under way, both saddle thanks are clean, the transfer switch works and so is the gauge indicating fuel level in each thank. Water temperature is always at 50/60C. All electrical is in perfect working order, sun roof, electric rear view mirrors, defroster, seats adjustment (height only) windows, aerial and center locking. There is no rust in the usual spots as per pictures, no body work ever around the Le Mans gas filler caps therefore no water is getting in the thanks. This great classic automobile cruises at 75 MPH without any sign of its age thanks to the 4.2 liter in line 6. The automatic BW 3 speed transmission is smooth as silk. This XJ6 series III VDP was one of the last Jaguar designed by Sir William Lyons, in 1987 this model was replaced by the XJ40, the last Jaguar that Sir William Lyons had a keen interest and involvement. The series III was produced until 1992 but only with the V12 engine, 1987 was the last year of the 4.2 liter in line six. This is the great Jaguar E type engine but fuel injected. In 1987 the MSRP for this VDP was over $ 40K; today you can have a piece of Jaguar history at a fraction of its original cost! This fantastic classic will do nothing but appreciate , original examples are extremely rare to find.
