I planned this FJ40 for a custom camo build like the unit you see in the last picture, but have too many projects going right now and need to liquidate some of them. I bought this vehicle one year ago as you see it now from the high desert of eastern Oregon where it spent its entire life. It spent a few days in my shop last week going through fluid and safety checks. This truck is original paint, great rot free body, has a GM automatic trans with fuel injected V6 motor. The hard work has been done, it needs cosmetics to be great. This is not one of my turn-key restored vehicles, it needs things here and there but is running/driving and can be enjoyed now. I'm selling this as a mild project. 1972 model year is completely emissions exempt in CA and the other 49 states the last time I checked, but double check to make sure in your state. This is the simple throttle body injection design that will run at all angles, start easy, also very easy for anyone to work on. The original fuel tank under the seat was removed and replaced with a larger tank under the bed with return lines for the fuel injection. The transmission is a GM TH-350 three speed automatic with a mild shift kit. Floor shifted FJ40 transfer case, axles have 4.10 gears. Custom drive lines for the motor/trans conversion. Power steering, new exhaust. These types of conversions cost thousands of dollars. Tires are MT Baja Claws 33 size with good tread on aluminum wheels. The springs are Rancho, 4 in lift. New aftermarket wiring harness. BODY The body is in great shape speaking FJ40. These trucks are very hard to find without serious rust. I have not found any significant rot worth noting. The paint is original so you can see the integrity. The body is all original, but the fenders have been removed and painted black at some point. Great start with original sheet metal, you know there has been no serious body damage or wreck. The headlight bezel has been upgraded to a chrome piece. The frame is in excellent shape. Roof rack with spare tire mounted, Hi-Lift jack mounted on the hood. The fender flares were designed to stand on to reach the roof rack. Known Issues. The transmission pan has a leak and needs the gasket replaced. Turn signals need to be wired back up, chip in windshield, other cosmetic flaws as seen in pics. The oil gauge is not hooked up, the rear hatch handle is missing, I'm sure there are other little things. I went over the major components only. This truck is a great start at a reasonable price. If you planned on these types of conversions buying one that has the work done saves you a pile of time and money. Buying a FJ40 that isn't rusted out will save thousands in repairs. These reasons are exactly why I bought it with the intention of making it turn key and painted up nicely FJ for resale. I've built 10 or so Camo cruisers like the one in the last picture, you can see others in my sub-albums on photobucket. They have always sold in the 25-35k range.
