Up for sale is a 1970 Mustang Convertible that I inherited 3 years ago after my father passed away. He had bought the car as a semi-restored project approx. 15 years ago and worked on it as a retirement project but never finished it because of health reasons. It had sat in his barn the last 10 years or so before I got it and worked on finishing it. When my father bought it 15 years ago the previous owner had completed most of the body work including rear floor pans, repaired inner rockers, rear lower quarter panel patch panels. It was in primer and ready for paint. When my father got it he had it painted and the body trim reinstalled with new bumpers, door handles, hood trim. He then had a new top installed, new carpet, new seat covers and new door panels installed. He found a set of 1970 Mustang rally wheels and had them painted and new BF Goodrich radial T/A's installed. It was at this time that he stopped working on the car and it went into long term storage until I took it over 3 yrs ago. Since I got it the following new parts have been installed: (Gas tank, gas tank sending unit, new main fuel line, fuel pump, rebuilt 2V carb,alternator, starter, voltage regulator, battery, points, condensor, rotor cap, dist cap, plug wires, spark plugs, rear axle bearings & seals, rear wheel cylinders, brake pads, brake hardware kit, rear drums turned, power steering hoses, front brake calipers, front wheel bearings & seals, master cylinder, rear shocks, trans oil & filter changed, radiator flushed last fall, trunk mat, trunk insulation, 1 new power top cylinder, power top switch in dash). The car has a 351C 2V with FMX auto trans and 9" rear end with 3.00 gear ratio, power steering, power disc brakes, power top, deluxe interior, console, AM radio, Racing stlye rear view mirrors. I have put approx. 1100 miles on this car over the past 2 years. We go to some local cruise nights etc. The motor does have a low speed miss when you are backing out of the garage. Once on the road it runs fine and is really pretty quick for a 2V motor. The trans shifts fine and brakes and steering work great. It drives great going down the road. The transmission does drip some oil when sitting and the passenger side front fender does have a chip in the paint. This is not a show car but a fun driver that you wouldn't be ashamed to take to the local cruise night. We just ordered a new pontoon boat so unfortuneately this must go.
