Vehicle Detail
For your consideration I have a 1968 Impala station wagon. I have had this car for a little over 12 years now. I have installed a fuel injected LT1 350 with overdrive transmission. The engine and trans now have about 70,000 miles on them, they had about 50,000 when installed. I used a painless wiring harness to run the engine. Engine and trans perform flawlessly. Rear end is a 2:73 geared 12 bolt. I have driven this car on several multi-thousand mile road trips to the Rockie mountains and it was my daily driver for several years. Originally a Colorado car, the frame and floors are solid and intact. There is rust in the lower fenders, lower rear 1/4s and around the rear wheel lips. As you can see in the pics, the LH 1/4 has a pretty good dent. The doors are solid and straight. Tail gate has rust way down low, I have another clean tailgate that will be included with the deal. Also included is a complete set of stainless for around the upper door frames and a complete set of side moldings. The interior is respectable with original door panels, 10 year old headliner and carpet. The front seats are from a newer Dodge convertible. Seats feature integrated shoulder seat belts for added safety over the old stock belts. Rear seat is original and in nice condition. This is a 6 passenger wagon and does not have the additional rear seat. This is kind of nice for camping and road tripping as there is lots of storage under the rear floor area. The rear window is a power unit and works from under the dash but not from the back switch. The car needs a set of tires as the tires on the car are mismatched and definitely not safe for the road. Front brakes are 4 piston calipers with slotted rotors from a 67 Corvette. Brakes work very well. Full dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers, it sounds very nice. Car has functional cruise control for those long road trips. Bumpers, grill and front end trim are straight and nice with a good shine all around. This is no showpiece but if you want a decent car to play with and drive around, look no further. Just add a set of tires and it is ready for the road. I would trust this car anywhere, any time. I have a pair of NOS GM 1/4 panels available to the winning bidder. You are encouraged to come and view this car in person. Car is located in Manitowoc, WI, about 80 miles straight north of Milwaukee, 40 miles straight south of Green Bay.
