  RARE. 1978 DODGE POWER WAGON WE BELIEVE THIS MAY EVEN BE ONE OF THE FEW "MACHO" EDITIONS. 4X4 PICKUP VERY STRAIGHT, SOLID, CLEAN & RESTORABLE CLASSIC TRUCK. WE DID A LITTLE RESEARCH & THIS HAS THE MOUNTING POINTS FOR THE FACTORY ROLL BAR & A LOT OF OTHER "MACHO" EDITION OPTIONS. IT IS FACTORY RED, WHICH WAS ONE OF THE MACHO COLORS. THE BODY APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN PAINTED BELOW THE BODYLINE ON THE SIDES WHERE THE STRIPES WOULD HAVE GONE. THE MIRRORS & BUMPERS APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT SOME POINT IN THE LAST 35 YEARS. BUT EITHER WAY IT IS A RARE 78 POWERWAGON WITH A BUNCH OF RARE OPTIONS & IT IS AS STRAIGHT AND SOLID AS THESE TRUCKS COME UNRESTORED. THIS ONE WILL MAKE AN EZ CLASSIC 4X4 PICKUP TO RESTORE OR JUST MAKE INTO A NOSTALGIC DAILY DRIVER. HAS A 360ci V8 & AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE 360 V8 RUNS GOOD AT START UP, BUT IT HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR A WHILE, SO IT WOULD PROBABLY BE BEST TO HAVE IT TRANSPORTED SO YOU COULD GET A FRESH SERVICE BEFORE IT IS DRIVEN ANY DISTANCE. BUT IF YOU'D LIKE TO DRIVE IT HOME, WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU ARRANGE GETTING ANY PRETRIP PREP WORK DONE AT OUR WHOLESALE COST. HOWEVER WHEN WE DROVE IT OVER TO TAKE THE PICTURES, THE ENGINE SOUNDED STRONG, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GOOD, THE BRAKES & STEERING BOTH WORKED GREAT & IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD NICELY. THE FRONT END, GRILL, ETC. ARE OVERALL ALL VERY NICE! STRAIGHT & SOLID! OTHER THAN A FEW VERY SMALL DINGS, IT IS REMARKABLY STRAIGHT & CLEAN FOR BEING 35 YEARS OLD! IN FACT THE "BIGGEST" DENT ON THE WHOLE TRUCK IS THE SMALL DENT THAT CAN BE SEEN ON THE BOTTOM SECTION OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR. THAT IS AS BAD AS IT GETS! MORE IMPORTANTLY, WE HAVE EVEN HAD THIS TRUCK UP ON A HOIST & LOOKED IT OVER VERY THOROUGHLY & IT IS OVERALL INCREDIBLY SOLID THROUGHOUT. TO BE CLEAR. IT HAS: A SOLID CAB, WITH SOLID ROCKERS, SOLID CAB CORNERS & SOLID FLOORBOARDS, SOLID FENDERS, SOLID DOORS, SOLID BUMPERS, SOLID BED SIDES, SOLID BED FLOOR, SOLID TAILGATE, SOLID FRAME, ETC. IN FACT, TO BE VERY CLEAR: WE DID NOT FIND ANY RUST PROBLEMS ANYWHERE ON THIS TRUCK! BOTH BODY SIDES ARE NICE & CLEAN! NICE FACTORY TAILLIGHTS TOO. HEAVY DUTY REAR BUMPER IS SOLID & STRAIGHT. EVEN THE BED FLOOR AND INSIDE PANELS ARE STRAIGHT & SOLID. AS MENTIONED EARLIER, THE TRUCK IS REMARKABLE STRAIGHT & ... IN FACT I BELIEVE THE WORST "DENTS" ON THE WHOLE TRUCK ARE VISIBLE IN THE PHOTO BELOW... THE SMALL ROUGHLY FOOT LONG SHALLOW "CREASE" ON THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR. INTERIOR: DASH IS CLEAN & ORIGINAL. REMARKABLY IT HAS NO CRACKS IN THE PAD. GAUGES ARE IN VERY NICE SHAPE. HAS FACTORY GAUGE PACKAGE INCLUDING A FACTORY TACH, TILT WHEEL, FACTORY BUCKET SEATS & FACTORY CRUISE! VERY RARE OPTION PACKAGE. BELIEVE IT ORIGINALLY CAME WITH FACTORY FLOOR MATS, BUT THEY WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED OR YOU COULD GO WITH CARPETING. SAME NICE SOLID & STRAIGHT CONDITION. VIEW OF THE PASSENGER SIDE INCLUDING NICE SOLID FLOORBOARD & ROCKER. PASSENGER SEAT HAS A COUPLE SEAMS THAT NEED TO BE RESEWN. OTHERWISE NICE.
