Vehicle Detail
1966 Coronet Selling a 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 model. This is a daily driver and has over 190K on its original 361 and 727 torqueflite transmission. Still runs and drives great. The top end was rebuilt 3 years ago. At which time the heads were redone(hardened valve seals all that good stuff. have receipts ~$700), high flow manifolds are on it, it has a 1967 intake and 600 holley carburetor with electric choke to top it off. The car was also changed over to electronic ignition. In back is the stock 8 3/4. Body: The car has almost all its original body and paint still on it, so what you see is basically what you get. The front left fender is not original to the car after a deer ran into it. Originally was a white fender as you can see in the engine bay picture. Also the quarter panels around the wheel openings have new metal in them and it was blended/painted red. The lower parts of the car have bubbling throughout. Floors are perfect and the trunk floor only needed a half dollar sized rust hole fixed. The rear bumper has a half dollar sized rust spot on it. Frame rails are in good condition also. Interior: The front seat is ripped up but the back seat is in fairly good condition for being original. Headliner is in good condition as is the door panels and carpet (faded carpet). All of the gauges and mechanicals (windshield wipers and washer fluid motor) work on it. Has an am radio, but owner put a jvc unit in the glovebox and has a set of speakers under the seat and in the rear deck shelf. It has tinted windows and a/c. The a/c was switched over to the new stuff and worked great... But it must have a leak somewhere as it stopped working last summer. It has the stock wheels with 225/70/14 radial t/a's all around. ( Some pictures have magnum 500's on it, but the owner is keeping those for himself.) Documentation: Fender tag, certi-card, copy of the window sticker and tons of receipts and other documents from over the years. Car has not ever been checked for the build sheet, so it may or may not have one. It's current duty is as a daily driver, so you could take it and continue dd'ing it while you fix it up (rust and a/c working again). With it being almost all original metal and paint, I’d say the pictures speak for themselves as far as the body goes. You could recover the seats and put in a new carpet and the interior would be much more presentable. I would say the motor would need to be gone through as it does have its original bottom end (over 190k). extra parts to go with it: 2bbl intake and carb, original exhaust manifolds, original a/c compressor, chrome trim for the rockers. Or do what I would do if I were in the position to buy it since it is already a big block: Leave the body and interior as/is and make it my daily driver while I build a 440/400 stroker etc. motor to take it to the racetrack. It has the patina to be a real sleeper! Could be a great starter car to get someone’s foot in the door to the mopar world with a BB B-body. Father/son project-learn about engine building and the fun art of body and paint. This is a 47 year old car and although the current owner drives it every day, I'm not going to encourage someone to fly in and drive it home. But if you want to make it an adventure, I’ll pick you up at the airport and wish you the best. It has made many trips to Kentucky and surrounding states, but getting to your location is all on you. If you find a shipper, I will gladly work with the person to get it loaded up and shipped. I could look into bringing it to a monster mopar weekend, nationals, or whatever show is nearest you. Ask any and all questions before you bid. I can send you a walk around video of it if you would like, better pics, whatever you want. Sold as is/where is. No warranty of any kind. There is a $250 non-refundable deposit due 72 hours after the end of the auction. Car must be completely paid for in 14 days from the end of the auction and before it is removed from the property. Can be held on property for a $25/week fee after the 14 days, unless otherwise discussed. This is for sale elsewhere, so the ad can be taken down at anytime.
