Vehicle Detail
59 Ford Fairlane 2dr post. Barn fresh car, one family owned from new until I purchased it. 223 6 cylinder, 3 speed column shift manual transmission. Original Ivory exterior and light green interior. The car is structurally sound but does not run and has rust. The car spent most of its life since the early 70's in a barn in northern Indiana, and the motor appears to be stuck. Transmission shifts and car rolls free. One tire loses air over time. 9" rear with 3.00 open differential according to the door tag. Floors are solid with a hole under driver's foot, and there is some rust through where the edge of the floor meets the sill. Outer rockers have rust through, quarters have rust, trunk has rust at the outer edges and bottom of spare tire well. Fender eyebrows have some rust through as pictured. Trunk lid and door shells appear solid. Windshield has a rock chip, drivers door glass cracked. Doors shut nice and windows roll smoothly. The interior looks nice and original, aside from a mice-damaged headliner and a small hole in the driver's seat back. However it smells very musty and mousy. It will need a thorough cleaning at the least. Since we've been airing the car out, its gotten better however. Check out the original rubber floor mat, which is in great shape except under the accelerator. The fourth hubcap and a spare wheel are included. Car is located just east of Cincinnati and visits are welcome by appointment. It has a clear Indiana title that's ready to be transferred.
