2004 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Sedan 4-Door 1.9L Diesel Manual 5-speed BEW code motor VIN # 3VWRR69MX4M045551 selling for NO RESERVE. The car has 174,860 miles but is my daily driver and I will add about 600 miles to this by the end of the auction. I purchased this vehicle a couple of years ago because I was driving 35,000 miles a year and I got it for a reasonable price. I am selling it because my commute is much shorter now and this is a duplicate vehicle for me (I just bought my 5th diesel vehicle and I have two Jetta TDIs). It is my current daily driver and has been for most of the time that I have had it, and I have never had any problems with it. I changed the timing belt as soon as I purchased the vehicle with 134,500 miles with a kit from blauparts (part # GH21121). The car drives fantastic with no vibration at speed or rattles etc. The clutch and transmission are in good shape as well (no gears grind and no clutch slippage). I have never modified the car in any way and it is completely stock. The glow plug update was performed by the dealer on 12-19-11. I have gotten anywhere from 40-44 MPG as long as I have had the car. You may be able to get more with ideal driving techniques, but I never tried to stretch the MPG. Also, the car has a protected by Ziebart sticker on the front driver's side window, so I can assume that the previous owner had the car treated by Ziebart. My average oil change interval has been 4327 miles and I only use Rotella synthetic 5w40. (No change was ever more than 4864 miles) The problems are as follows and have been there since I purchased the car: Windshield is cracked (see picture) but has never bothered me because it is not in my line of sight. The check engine light comes on when you use the radio for a short circuit on the left front speaker. The speaker does not generate any noise and I have never tried to fix it. I have a Ross-Tech analyzer to determine this fault code, and the check engine light is not currently on because I don't use the radio. The radio otherwise functions perfectly on the remaing speakers. The left rear door is missing the chrome strip (see picture). There is a major scratch that goes to the primer, but not through the primer behind the driver's side rear door (see picture). There are minor scratches to the clearcoat on the hood that look like swirl marks above each headlight. I don't notice these on a daily basis and almost forgot to mention them, but they are obvious if you inspect the car for paint damage. These scratches to the clearcoat can be seen in straight lines on other parts of the car as well, but are not obvious without being very close to the car (see picture). There are a few small but noticible dents on the trunk lid. The car is missing the plastic cover under the motor and over the motor (I have the top cover somewhere but consider it gone for the purposes of the auction, because I don't know where it is after a recent move.) Please inspect the pictures. This car is not perfect, but is in great mechanical condition and I would not be afraid to drive it across the country. A $500 paypal downpayment is required at the end of the auction. For the remainder, I will accept cash or a bank transfer only before you can leave with the vehicle. You may pick up the vehicle in Carrollton, IL on the weekends or evenings or in Jerseyville, IL on weekdays. *If you are uncomfortable bringing cash you may pay for the entire car using paypal but I will have to upcharge you whatever the paypal fee is (probably about $200 or so).
