This is an extremely RARE 1986 one owner, no rust, low mileage, Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Syncro. It is Gold with Tan and Brown interior.
This van was bought new in the dry climate of New Mexico where it spent it's life until roughly 2009. The original owner passed and it was left to his daughter who lives in Johnson City, Tn. It was then driven from New Mexico to Johnson City with no problems.
This van is rust free except for minor surface rust on the exterior where there is minor body damage. All the paint is original with no signs of any accidents. The exterior does have it's share of dents, dings, and minor creases which can be seen in the pictures.
The interior is in very good and clean condition, and has been a non smoker vehicle. The canvas top is in fair condition with no rips, but the material is getting thin and has a couple of pin holes. The dash does have minor cracking.
Mechanically this van is ready for many more miles. We have completed a fresh tune up with new spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor and wires. We also replaced CV boots and air and fuel filters. The tires have roughly 80% tread remaining and all wheel bearings and brakes are in good condition. This van drives straight down the interstate @ 70 mph with no vibrations or pulling. The odometer quit working since we took possession of the vehicle and shows 109k miles but we will be selling this van with true mileage unknown. The only mechanical flaws are the ac is inoperable as well as the cruise control. The van runs very well and does not smoke or burn any oil.
The van is being sold as is. It is all original and all intact. We have not tested all components of the van each way to see if everything is functioning properly. There is a good chance that some of these interior items will need some minor attention before being 100%.
