Rolling off the assembly line at Chevrolet’s Norwood, Ohio plant in May 1967, this Camaro’s original six cylinder configuration was anything but exciting. During its restoration, however, the car shed its lackluster powertrain and was upgraded with a configuration effectively replicating the L48 option originally available. Cosmetically, the paint and interior colors were also changed during the restoration. The end result is an exhilarating car the original owner likely would have preferred, but could not afford. Today, this 1967 Camaro convertible is painted blue with white accents and convertible top. Inside, you’ll find blue vinyl trim throughout with the optional console between the seats. Under the hood is a 350 V-8 and appropriate trim changes have been made to replicate the L48-option, SS-350 look. This engine has been mated to a four speed manual transmission, making the car as much fun to drive as it is powerful. More good news: most features on this car are in working order! This includes: exterior lights, turn signals, interior lights, gauges and warning lights, wipers, aftermarket AM/FM radio, and emergency brakes. The horn and cigarette lighter are not operational. Exterior: The paint is in excellent condition and maintains a brilliant shine. The only observed imperfection, a light scratch on the driver’s door, was too faint to be caught in photographs. Like the paint, the chrome and stainless trim is also in immaculate condition. The white convertible top is in overall excellent condition, with the noteworthy exception of a ¼” blemish above the passenger side door. (see photo). A boot for the convertible top is included and matches the interior trim. All weatherstripping is soft and pliable. The P215/70R14 Firestone outlined white letter radial tires have good tread, though their age is unknown. The original spare can be found in the trunk. Interior: Overall, the interior is in great condition. The blue vinyl seats show practically no wear. Likewise, the glass, dash, and door panels remain in excellent condition. The carpet has faded / stained over time. Though less noticeable with floor mats in place, the carpeting is the only portion of the interior worthy of improvement. Windows glide up and down effortlessly and the convertible top lowers smoothly. Mechanical: The car starts easily and its 350 V-8 is powerful and smooth, with just the right amount of muscle car rumble. The four speed manual transmission shifts appropriately and the brakes stop the car confidently. In short, the car is an absolute pleasure to drive. With the top down, it is perfect for these beautiful Spring days! The engine bay is very clean but could use detailing to bring its appearance to show quality. The odometer indicates 26,386 miles though this cannot be verified. The undercarriage is clean and solid. This car was purchased by its present owner, an Athens, Georgia collector, in 2008. Work performed on this Camaro since its purchase includes: new headlight dimmer switch, replacement of two head studs and two rockers, replaced push rods, and the carburetor was removed and cleaned. The car is being sold as the collection is reconfigured. Prospective bidders are encouraged to email with questions and to inspect the car which is located in Athens, Georgia. The car is sold as-is with no warranty express or implied. Transportation will be the responsibility of the buyer. Car has current Georgia registration and is sold with a clear Georgia title and a bill of sale. A deposit of $500.00 must be made within 48 hours of the conclusion of the auction with full payment due within seven days. Prospective bidders with less than five feedbacks and international bidders must contact seller prior to bidding. A reasonable reserve has been set for this ’67 Chevrolet Camaro convertible providing an outstanding opportunity for you to make this well-preserved automobile yours. Good luck!
