Vehicle Detail

ORIGINAL BODY CAMARO PRO TOURING 1969 Camaro RS/SS 396 Convertible. You will not find a nicer looking or driving Camaro than this one. This heavily optioned Camaro is finished in Cortez Silver with a Black and White Deluxe Houndstooth interior and a black convertible top. This is a show quality nut and bolt restoration. It contains probably the most original options one could get on a 69 Camaro. I absolutely love this car. I am listing it for a friend who bought it from me and has the clear title. I was hoping to be able to buy it back at some point. Unfortunately timing and money are not right to do so. The current owner needs to sell it. I originally purchased the car in 2008 with the idea I would drive and show it. I rarely drove it and the current owner had driven it less than 20 miles in almost 2 years. it gets started and driven regularly but clearly very little. She starts right up. It is a show car in every way. The underside of the car is as nice as the outside and inside. The Camaro was purchased from a gentleman who had a no money spared professional frame off restoration done. It needed a little detail which I completed. When I picked up the car it had just under 200 miles on it. Today it has slightly over 1200 miles. That is how little the car has been driven in the past 5+ years. The car has a salvaged title. The owner I bought the car from said that the car had been off the road since 1974. In MO., where the car is from, if a car has been off the road and not registered for a certain period of time the vehicle is automatically a salvaged title when titled again. (Please research for yourself). The car sat inside so the metal was in real nice condition once the Camaro changed hands and the resto project started. The car was never wrecked so all the metal was un molested. The salvage really didn’t matter to me and shouldn't be a factor since the car had been completely redone. I have been over the car thoroughly and there is no evidence of it being in an accident of any kind that I can see. It started life as a small block with red exterior, white interior and a white top. The body retains most of its original sheet metal. One quarter and a portion of another were the only metal replaced (common). The tires are BF Goodrich TA’s 245 60 15. This is not an X-11 car but again this is a clone. Best thing is that it is a car that could have been ordered this way for the most part and is not destroying the originality of a real big block car. LOOK Below at the list of options; · RS/SS Package (Correctly done all the way to the headlight squirters) · Engine: Although it retains the appearance on the outside of an original 396, the block is a standard bore 454 with new GM aluminum Bow Tie heads. The block was decked and line bored. It has a Crane cc 290 cam, Hypertectectic 9.75:1 pistons, Resized rods, polished GM crank, Comp roller tip rockers, double roller timing chain, HV oil pump, hardened push rods, SFI balancer, Felpro gaskets.
