Vehicle Detail

1970 was the first year of production of the CB750 and revolutionized the Motorcycle Industry. I have owned this bike since July 1999 and it has been in climate controlled storage since purchase. I am including many original Honda OEM parts still in original boxes from Honda to include: OEM "300" Mufflers, Foot Pegs, Break Petal, Gear Shift and more, costing when purchased in 1999 $1500. I will also include the original seat. The gas tank has some internal rust and the bike will need to be serviced to be drivable. On Apr-07-13 at 19:00:07 PDT, seller added the following information:This engine is a 750 KO Diecast. On Apr-07-13 at 20:37:17 PDT, seller added the following information: This bike is a CB750 KO with the Diecast original engine. The original seat is on the bike now, no rips. With the new OEM parts that come with the bike, it can be brought up to an original version of a CB750 . The KO was actually introducted in late 1968 or early 1969. The bike was running fine when I bought it .On Apr-13-13 at 07:44:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Will sell to an International MarketOn Apr-13-13 at 09:50:46 PDT, seller added the following information: See the newly posted pictures of the parts. There is the 4 new OEM HM 300 mufflers with Honda boxes , I bought in 1999. The red pen points to a very small ding on the #3 muffller . otherwise they are flawless . . another picture shows all the parts to complete the exhaust system, all new. a new rear fender with decal . The original on the bike was drilled for a mud flap. a new upper air box, the one on the bike has a slight crack on the #1 cylinder, but is useable. another picture are the front foot pegs assy. and gear shift ( bike has floor boards) and parts to put on turn signals. plus two grab bars ( nice to add one to the right side of bike) and throttle cable. ( one on bike is fine) Two good extra side panels with emblems ( ones on bike are good, I don't see any cracks but have never removed them, so to the new owner be very careful getting them off the first time spray some silicone on the tabs and push at the tabs rather than put on the cover sides or you will crack them, then replace the grommets with new soft ones. What is missing from the pictures, but I should have them are the rear turn signals and bolts to hold on the mufflers. More about the bike in the spirit of full disclosure. I believe the miles are correct, the rear sprocket appears to be original and is not worn out. I have no reason to believe that the bike ever threw the chain and damaged the cases. I have not pulled the countershaft sprocket cover, there are no oil leaks. The rear hub does not have the punch marks to indicate that the warranty countershaft sprocket guide kit with rear softer dampers was installed in 1970, for those of you that are familar with that Honda fix for throwing chains in 69-70. The front fender I think is original ( has the unrolled lower edge) and the chrome is in nice shape. there are two small dings out of site by the exhaust headers. I think the fairing has been on the bike from the beginning and has protected the headlight and fork covers. they are not bent. I don't see any evidence that the bike has been dropped. it was made in 2/70 . the engine # is CB750E 1023611, frame # already posted. I can't confirm or refute if the engine has ever been out, (probably not) because the floor board kit ties into the engine mounts / bolts. The tank finish is original, no dents . The seat is the proper one for the bike , probably original . the chrome seat trim on the back side will need some adjustment but is not irreparably bent or dinged( there was a luggage rack on the bike that the seat trim rubbed against and displaced the trim, it will be an easy fix. The chrome rings and backings on the instruments have some surface rust, will look better cleaned, may need to be rechromed. Overrall the fairing has protected the front end. I will let the new owner take it off as you have to get into the headlight shell and get the turn signals off first, which will take a light touch and caution. I see no cracks to the headlight shell now. In Closing . this is a fundamentally original and sound KO. With the new OEM parts I am providing, and mostly labor of the new owner who is knowledgable of CB 750 SOHC Hondas, you should be able to double the value of your investment and not have to resort to a full "restoration." please contact me with any questions/concerns and I will do my best to give you a helpful answer. On Apr-14-13 at 17:00:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Just an update. Parts that come with the bike that did not make the additional pictures posted yesterday: new OEM rear brake pedal, still in the unopened Honda wrapping. Rear turn signals, appropriate Honda tool kit ( note the bike did not have one when I bought it) and Honda Mirrors ( it has aftermarket ones on it now) and bolts to hold on the mufflers. I do not have a KO owners manual , do have a K3 one . More History of the bike . I bought it in 1999 by way of a local Motorcycle shop that was owned and operated by a Honda mechanic that I had known since 1972 and had worked with 72-74. He was selling it on consignment for a local customer who had owned it since 1990 ( I copied the prior title before getting it transferred to me) and had just checked it over to get ready for sale. Having owned several CB 750 SOHC bike, I felt it was a solid machine, drove it home , and added it to my own collection in an A/C building , out of the way, where it has stayed until now, unharmed. The parts you see I ordered then with the intent to bring it back to all original. Since posting the bike for sale and answering inquires, I have looked the bike over more closely, and believe that one can make a stronger case that the miles are correct, than a case against it. Other than the accessaries you see in the pictures , and carb work, I see no evidence that anyone has attempted to restore it, The seat is not warn , has no splits in the seams, cushioning is good, the instruments appear to have never been worked on or tampered with. As mentioned the rear sprocket looks original , is not hooked, the chain is adjusted to the mid point ( 4 of 8 marks) but at 13 K has run it's usable life, may be the original, certainly not a roller chain. The rear brake is adjusted at least one half up the rod, more than I''d like to see for 13k, but I think the floor boards with auto type brake pedal would cause the driver to favor riding the rear brake. The engine top and lower ends have no leaks that I can see including the head gasket and the engine looks like it has had minimal work on it, for example the rocker arm covers are not rounded off. The handle bars are proper for the bike and not bend. Chain guard is fine, The battery box has had only superficial acidic exposure and should clean up. The frame ID # and plate # agree. The front fork boots do not appear to be dry rotted . The rim chrome is fine. The front end appears to track true, that is no twist. . If I have left anything out or interest please contact me, the sale is coming to a close soon, the bidding is for serious money, and I desire a mutually satisfactory transfer of this classic Honda. On Apr-16-13 at 20:31:33 PDT, seller added the following information: The ding in the #3 muffler is at the point of the red pen, hardly noticable , and not the light reflection that looks like a wave about 3 inches to the left of the pen
