Vehicle Detail
READY TO RIDE! I am a former Suzuki and Honda dealership service manager, and I am the second owner of this bike, having purchased it in 1988 while working at a Honda-Suzuki dealership in Ohio. Be assured it has been professionally maintained! A Rarity! The GS-700 is the last in a long line of air-cooled Suzuki GS series 4 cylinder sport bikes. It was only sold for 1 model year as a tariff-beater when the Federal government put a tariff on any imported motorcycle over 700cc to benefit Harley-Davidson, who were hurting at that time. It was preceded by the GS750, and replaced in late 1985 by the legendary GSXR-750. It has been ridden very little since, maybe once or twice a year in the last 10 years just to keep it fresh. Performance upgrades include a SuperTrapp pipe, K&N filter and DynoJet kit. Chassis upgrades include Progressive fork springs, stainless-steel (Aeroquip) braided front brake lines, EBC front brake pads, Metzeler front and Continental rear tires. Comfort upgrades include Corbin Gunfighter seat, Grab-on Superbike foam grips, and genuine Napoleon bar-end mirrors. Has always had regular oil changes, valves have recently been adjusted and carbs syched (less than 1000 miles ago) Never crashed or dropped. Bear in mind that the bike is nearly 30 years old and is not perfect. A bit of corrosion here, a spot of rust there, but overall I'd give it a 9 out of 10. No warranty expressed or implied.
