Vehicle Detail
For auction is a very nice 1974 Honda CT70 in it's original condition. It only has 1596 original miles and has been completely gone through and detailed. There aren't too many left like this. I bought the bike from the original owner who used to putt it around at a local company sight. It needed some attention from sitting too long, but was not abused in any way. The bike has been totally gone through - new parts were installed where warranted and everything else only cleaned. I wanted to keep it as original as possible as I prefer original bikes to restored ones. The blue paint is very nice with some minor peeling, the seat is excellent with no tears and non-hardened vinyl, all lights work as they should and it starts on first or second kick. The engine has never been apart. It has a clear non-op CA title, the original tool kit and owners manual, and the original blue CA license plate. Besides detailed cleaning, I have done the following things to this bike: - Rebuilt carburetor with new gaskets and new fuel hoses - Rebuilt front forks with new dust rubbers, seals and oil - New battery and battery cover - New front light, rear light lense and air cleaner element - New plug and engine oil - New OEM exhaust pipe - New nice used control switches - New paint on the outer rims (not hubs) and footpeg assembly I decided to leave the original Nitto tires on the bike for the original theme. They are functional but pretty weathered. The chrome has "specks" in it in most places and the cables work great but are weather darkened. It does not have the original battery plastic insert and the wire harness plug to the battery was gone, so I attached the connectors and a rubber boot which work and look nice. This bike turns heads yet has that original petina about it. Everything works correctly and would be a great bike to run down to the store with or take camping. This is not a totally restored bike that you have in the garage to only look at, it should be ridden and enjoyed (with care of course). I try and be honest and complete with my Ebay listings, so please feel free to ask any questions. I spent many hours on this bike and did it the way I'd want it if I was keeping it. I plan on letting the auction run it's course. I'd like it to be picked up locally but will assist in buyer-setup shipping in any reasonable way.
